'Anti-Violence' Site Calls User Wimp For Not Hitting Woman

A Danish anti-violence group has many women's groups upset after starting a new Web site called HitTheBitch.dk.

When you visit the page you see a model and a hand. Users can control the hand with their mouse to make it slap the woman repeatedly. With each strike the woman becomes more bruised until she falls to the floor crying and holding her neck.

If the woman is hit enough, the phrase "100% Gangsta" appears on the screen, followed by the phrase "100% Idiot." If you choose not to hit the woman, the score bar at the top of the screen reads "100% Wimp."

The group that made the site, NGO for Children, was established in 2002 by Kirsten Raffel Hermansen. It was originally formed to help children in families exposed to domestic violence, but has broadened its scope to include help for teens exposed to dating violence and programs for battered women.

2. "Dear non-danish visitor,
Due to an extremely high amount of traffic "Hit the Bitch" has been limited to only allow users from Denmark.

However, domestic violence is a global problem, so please support the fight against it in your local country.

Thanks for your interest.

Kind regards
Children exposed to Violence at Home

4. Reminds me of Keira Knightley's "shock" PSA against wife-beating
You see her being terrorized, slapped, and repeatedly kicked by her boyfriend in an empty studio with nobody to hear her screams. Very jarring in its attempt to raise awareness of domestic violence, but the jury is still out on that method as well.
