School Seeks Toilet Paper Donations
Melbourne Principal Wants Others To Be Mindful Of Budget Issues
MELBOURNE, Fla. -- A Melbourne elementary school principal is asking for toilet paper donations to raise awareness about ongoing budget issues.
Roy Allen Elementary Principal Carol Carmichael is hoping some people can spare a square, placing a large box in the front lobby of her Melbourne school and asking for toilet paper donations.
Carmichael told Local 6 News partner Florida Today that the school is not in dire need of toilet paper, but she said the gesture is an attempt to get people's attention and make them aware of the budget situation.
"I don't think many people are aware we still have budget issues," Carmichael said.
....
The donations allow Carmichael to spend her budget money elsewhere, like on paper supplies, books or support material for the classroom.
