MSNBC is promoting Sarah Palin's book like crazy. Why?
They even have Norah O'Donnell following her to report on the lines and the crowds and to get a pro-Sarah comment once in a while. No doubt, the publicity and the TV cameras are helping Sarah sell her book. MSNBC? The "liberal media" that Sarah professes to hate? What the hell is going on??

2. Palin's book has gotten more media coverage than
the President's Asia trip. Think about that...the 'journalists' have spent more time analyzing that rubbish than the speeches given by our President and the world leaders he met with.

3. Because
Like all the other "news" networks they are out to entertain and make a buck. Why people still watch any of it or think it is actually news is beyond me.

8. Yep
and of those 700 people, how many of them are putting their signed book on ebay today? Hint: MANY (check ebay). They are trying to make a quick buck - they learned this from the Queen grifter herself.

I saw NO ONE in line (with their books awaiting autograph) who was actually READING the book. NO ONE!

6. Because you're watching it?
Otherwise, how would you even know?
I've stopped watching for the most part. It's all jibber-jabber.

There's real news out there, but it's not on CNN, MSNBC, or any of the other cable networks.
Try watching the PBS NewsHour or something.

9. Thanks.
And you can tell us when they stop talking about it? We'll be busy watching cartoons or something else. We appreciate you volunteering to police the cable networks. Thanks again.

10. I'm not volunteering to watch it
I've been watching old movies on Turner, reading Saul Bellow, and planning my Thanksgiving menu. I can't stand it.

11. Fits into the Morning Joe campaign for "independent" candidates for 2010-12
Joe, of course, will wind up being Mr. Independent. It's so obvious that his show has just become a three-hour campaign commercial every morning. Now he's starting his "whistle-stop" tour with Starbucks in New Orleans. As transparent as it comes. Promoting Palin as "rogue" and an independent fits right into the message.

15. Actually, I'm of the opinion that the ninnies are the minority.
Edited on Thu Nov-19-09 05:32 PM by Warren DeMontague
They get way too much attention given their numbers, IMHO.

The media just loves this meme of the "all powerful values voter"... While they ignored the millions who actively protested the Iraq War from the get-go, they will turn over any and all rocks in search of some pinhead who wants to shout about how "Obama's health care proposal is EXACTLY LIKE Dachau"

You know what it's like? It's sort of like each one is voting 10 or 20 times. Cheating.

Hell, sometimes it feels like one crazy fucking guy is pretending to be 100, or 1000... having his stupid voice magnifed through a big, phony megaphone.

Don't you hate that?

14. I saw them work Norah into a frenzy, and I knew what was comin
she was being groomed to play Palin fan, or at least neutral. Norah all Palinized is kinda appealing, in a prurient way.

17. Why does anyone ask "Why?" when the MSM and Republicans are involved?
Edited on Thu Nov-19-09 05:36 PM by CakeGrrl
That question should answer itself.

Do you really expect a corporate-owned MSM to do anything that doesn't benefit its financial interests? That includes promoting Republicans for the flimsiest of excuses. They aren't a promoter of truth or arbiters of good sense. Not anymore.

I'm not sure why people expect anything more of the MSM than that.

And why are there ALWAYS so many Palin threads around here whenever she gets on the MSM's radar? People here are susceptible to it.

Unless I hear that she IS the 2012 GOP nominee, nothing she does or says short of or prior to that is of any interest to me whatsoever.

18. They're not the only ones...
What about Palin's big Barbara Walters (ABC) interview where she got to talk about how big, bad Katie Couric was mean and unfair to her and how there is so much "bullcrap" out there about her and blah, blah, blah? And this morning on Good Morning America, they had a piece from one of their reporters at a Palin book-signing and it was all about how she was drawing such big crowds and apparently is still "very popular" and they talked to gushing Palin-loving brainless zombies (what else could they be?).

She is all over the tv right now and it is nausea-inducing. :puke:

Edited on Thu Nov-19-09 06:31 PM by Shagbark Hickory
The biggest problem is that they are legitimizing this awful, awful person.
Another horrible republican president is inevitable but for chrissakes can we try to get with with an IQ over 27?

George W. Bush Jr. replacement, corporate supremacist puppet.

Corporations are the corporate media's clients, the American People are only consumers or customers to be sold a product, candidate or down the river, currently with Palin's book, the corporate media is selling all three.

Thanks for the thread, kentuck.
