if the Globetrotters had to miss the game for some reason, and the Generals still had to find a way to lose with no opposition on the court.

1. Uhm, no, you're not even close.
People like YOU are acting exactly like the Washington Generals, giving up before the real game has even started.

Really pathetic.

4. You're right---it's all up to me. Besides all the phone calls, meetings, petitions, I should be
controlling the debate with my optimism, as the Dems hack away at the bill despite our efforts.

2. A better analogy would be if...
a few of the generals were actually playing for the globetrotters. Sadly, this debate isn't democrats vs. republicans, but democrats vs. republicans and a few democrats and an independent.

3. Exactly. They went into this, knowing what the outcome was supposed to be...
An entertaining exercise for the media to cover, complete with riots and speeches and the rest.

But the Globbies were always destined to win, no matter what. And the Generals are the bought-and-paid-for patsies.

The crowd they are playing for is not the public, but their corporate sponsors who own them.

debate, the Generals realized they were going to have to lose to no one. That's what we're seeing here. A team shooting into its own basket, tripping over themselves in a comic attempt to look like there's real opposition to healthcare reform coming from the people they're supposed to represent.

6. I have Meadowlark Lemon autograph
I don't know what I did with it. I stood next to him...I'm just five feet. And I only came right around his belt buckle. It was a laugh for the customers at our DMV.
