FOX rolls wrong video, heads may roll

FOX executives are looking at serious disciplinary action in the control room.

The Swamp

by Mark Silva

FOX has done it again, and this time, once again, FOX says its misplay of the wrong crowd video was another regrettable mistake.

Today, FOX News host Gregg Jarrett was talking about Republican Sarah Palin's book tour and the crowd she is drawing at the start of it - no small turnout, with some 1,500 people lining up early this morning for a chance to get into this evening's premier book-signing for Going Rogue in Grand Rapids.

"Sarah Palin continuing to draw huge crowds while she's promoting her brand new book,'' FOX's Jarrett told his viewers. "Take a look at -- these are some of the pictures just coming into us... The lines earlier had formed this morning.''

But it turns out that Happening Now had pulled some video of something that happened last year: Displaying video today from Palin's campaign for the vice presidency, on the ticket with the GOP's Sen. John McCain - which also drew considerable crowds, as shown today in video of a smiling Palin before an adoring campaign crowd.

"This was a production error in which the copy editor changed a script and didn't alert the control room to update the video,'' Michael Clemente, senior vice president of news at FOX, sad this evening. "There will be an on-air explanation during Happening Now on Thursday."

The unwelcome mishap follows soon on the heels of another FOX Pas - when the network's Sean Hannity ran video of a hugely attended TEA Party protest rally in Washington in September as Hannity was talking about a less-attended Nov. 4 rally outside the Capitol.

Comedy Central's Jon Stewart called out Hannity on that video, and Hannity apologized, on air, for what he called an "inadvertent'' error. Hannity has a book-tour interview of Palin on his show tonight, and we're betting Stewart's Daily Show crew will be watching.

So, as you might suspect, the No. 1-rated cable news network is taking today's mixing of videos quite seriously;

How seriously?

The Swamp hears tonight that it's highly like that serious disciplinary action will be taken for those responsible behind the scenes in the control room. News executives there consider this to have been a sloppy and unnecessary error.

20. Nobody is going to get "the ax" they were just doing what they were told ...
.... to do. That would open Fox up to law suits by the person terminated so my guess is that
a few people will be "fired" or moved to different jobs with in Rupert's empire.

Fox lies 24/7 and 365 days a year that is their job because it sure isn't news. How anybody could see that
footage of Palin @ a campaign stop and think it was lines outside some book store is beyond me.

4. Doing it once might be "inadvertent", but a repeat within days
is a pattern...similar to their "mistakes" of party identification whenever a Republican is in hot water.

6. Bullshit!
They knew exactly what was airing, hoping they would not be exposed. That's what they do....hell, they even went to court to prove they had the right to lie to their viewers!

It's called deception, something FAUX News uses rather often to bolster their false claims. When you have pieces of shit that mascarade as management at Faux, this is what you get. It sells ads and energizes their base viewers, and that's all they care about. If you get caught, say it was the fault of some underling, and move on. They have a modus operandi, and this is it.

7. fox news knows their audience would`t know the difference
a "news organization" that stole a live feed from cnn and can legally lie is only creditable to it`s zombie viewers.

So it was the copy editor's fault that Fox ran misleading footage of Palin's V.P. run and called it
a large crowd turn out to buy here book and see her? Please! Now why would over a year old
video be loaded into the system? What was the on air person going to do a retrospective on her
campaign run but he got handed a piece of paper to read about what she is doing now and so that
old video made it seem that Fox was trying distort reality?

This goes under the department of:

"Are you trying to seduce me?"

"No way you are too smart to fall anything like that so have another drink and loosen up your blouse
you sexy thing you. Now come sit by the fire w/ me."
