This was never expected to be better than the House bill. It's not as bad as I thought it would be, but there's still work to be done on it. Premiums can still increase enormously as people age, there's no anti-trust provision, it spends money to create nonprofit insurance co-ops which we moved away from because private business insisted they could do better. The subsidy is good though, so that's better. I haven't decided which tax policy is better, depends on how much they raise I guess. But there isn't very far to reconcile these two bills so I think we're going to get something passed.
