I just figured it out: Sarah Palin is "Suzanne Stone" from the movie "To Die For".

Both were small town TV anchors.. Like Suzanne, Sarah thinks the whole world revolves around her.. she thinks she's "God's gift" to the world.. that she's always right.. that her failures are always someone else's fault and she's always scheming in sociopathic way to get ahead in the world at everyone else's expense..

The parallels are truly frightening and unfortunately she got a lot further (thanks to John McCain's help) than Suzanne Stone ever got. Really she's just a local yokel scheming councilwoman / TV anchor who never should have ended up as a Vice Presidential candidate for a major party.
