3. Reminds me of what happened in Kansas last year

Kansas used to have a state law outlawing civilian ownership of automatic weapons. Turns out that the law also made it harder for police departments to obtain such firearms for legitimate law enforcement needs. So guess what Kansas did? They scrapped the law. Kansas police agencies can now get the guns they need, and any civilian Kansan who can obtain NFA clearance is no longer barred by state law from owning a machine gun.

New Jersey really screwed up here. They passed a bad law, but now they're going to retrofit the law so that it can continue to infringe on the Second Amendment rights of NJ residents instead of doing the right thing like Kansas did.
