Palin says yes to 2012 presidential run, ‘if the people will have me’
By Raw Story
Tuesday, November 17th, 2009 -- 8:01 pm

Sarah Palin dropped a heavy hint Tuesday that she might seek to run for the White House in 2012 as champion of America's Republican right.

Speaking to ABC television's Barbara Walters, the former running mate in John McCain's failed 2008 presidential bid gave every appearance of releasing a trial balloon.

"That certainly isn't on my radar screen right now, but when you consider some of the ordinary-turning-into-extraordinary events that have happened in my life, I am not one to predict what will happen in a few years," she said.

She stated her desire was to "help our country." Then, asked if she would play a "major" role in the 2012 presidential election, she answered: "If the people will have me, I will."

Palin is at the start of a publicity blitz for her memoirs, "Going Rogue," which went on sale Tuesday with a huge initial print run by HarperCollins Publishers of 1.5 million copies.

2. Is the American electorate brain dead enough to send La Palin to the WH?
Under certain conditions, you betcha.

look, everyone keeps wanting to draw this false comparison to Reagan or Bush II.

By that standard ANY lunatic from Palin to Glenn Beck is a real threat to win the presidency.

Out of the gates, Reagen and Bush were, you know, white men.

They also did not quit their governors job halfway through THE FIRST TERM. Bought and paid for or not, Bush II had that cherished Yale MBA, and Reagen had, litererally, decades as a republican spokesman under his belt. Bush II was THE ulimate political prodidgy, and had the very center of the power in the party foist him up. Reagan also was VERY much the establishment candidate.

But, it goes beyond the resume ...

Bush was a blathering idiot ... as president.

For what it is worth, the man had a great amount of discipline in what came out of his mouth BEFORE he got elected. And while a mindless twit by the time he got elected, Reagan also was VERY well refined in what he said BEFORE he was president.

Palin has spewed such complete utter nonsense to this point that she is unelectable based on that alone. But, beyond that, she is currently torching half the party along the way. Out of the gates, she is throwing McCain campaign people under the bus, has made mortal enemies of them and her history of being completely unworkable will make it VERY hard to have any of the seroius campaigners you need to get elected work for her.

It serves Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck to foist her up, and EVERY R pol has to kiss her butt because they can't afford to offend her minions.

But, she is BEYOND, completely and undeniably an unmanageable pychophant. Again, the Reagen and Bush II comparisons completely do not fit in that both of them VERY readily subjegated themselves to the powers to be and willingly took on the role that was predesigned for them and settled into allowing things to operate around them without their knowledge. They knew they were figureheads and knew their roles.

NO WAY the people behind the scenes get behind this lunatic. They know she is all about her and leaves carnage behind her.

She is going to raise a boatload of money and will have the media fawn over her for sure.

But, once the rubber meets the road and actual campaigner starts, she will crash and burn and it won't be pretty. She is a more undisciplined Rudy Guilliani and is even more scattershot as a candidate than McCain 2008 was.

She thinks she can just show up and be Sarah Palin and win. She won't have the infrastructure or the people to run a presidential campaign and she will be FAR too undisciplined. And, frankly, when lined up against people like Mittens, Santorum or whoever else, she will not be able to charm her way through things, she will appear to be the vacous twit she is.

Again, the media will fawn over her, and the other candidates will kiss her butt (see how BO treated Hillary knowing he had to be careful), but she IS going to crash and burn (see Rudy). She has zero chance of making out of the primary.

...they are just not very smart.

She reminds me of someone applying for a job as a Nuclear Physicist and all they have is a 9th grade education.

5. She'd get her clock cleaned
There's NO WAY this woman has what it takes to govern.

Besides, who the hell could stand to listen to her nasally insipid whining through another campaign season? I seriously can't stand to hear the woman's voice - I had the same problem with W. The cringe factor is off the chart and before I know it, I'm clenching my jaws and cussing at the teevee.

6. The Gift That Keeps Giving...
So what have we learned about Mooselini's politics in the past week? Zero. Not that she ever had any other than the usual talking points. Instead this waste of perfectly healthy trees is all about her...playing the victim. Damn straight it's going over big in the parallel universe where christians are constantly persecuted, the corporate media is run by "libruls" and us "socialists" are hiding under every bed. It's all about poor Sarah and how misunderstood she is. And, of course, this is the reason she's "qualified" to be President :shiver:

Instead of showing substance, she's provided us with more mindmelding quotes and petty bullshit that may just put her at the head of a very weak rushpublican party and lead it further off the abyss. Let her pretend...and start the real bloodletting in that corrupt and inept party as she represents all that went wrong last year. You gotta know people like Mittens and Hucklenutz aren't too happy in seeing this usurper (gotta love using that term on those losers) get all the attention. It's not if but when she'll be taking flack from her own. Stay tuned...

11. She's had a taste of the big time now, she's never going back voluntarily
Even more heady than getting the VP nod from McCain must have been the sight of all the cheering crowds for the intense period between the Rethug convention and Election Day, and it's a drug that Caribou Barbie must get repeated fixes of. This book tour, with no really visible Repuke opposition is another bite at that apple, and it's designed to give her seed money for the next big "high".

She seems to thrive on the ridicule, she's used the whole Letterman thing to vault herself up in the eyes of those who distrust "Hollywood values". And he is absolutely obsessed with her, just can't leave her alone. Of course, he can't tell sex jokes about anyone else's life anymore, now can he?

We've HAD IT WITH YOU.

There is a difference. Shut the hell up and go away, OK? You are a liar and typical of what's wrong with government today.

20. If things don't turn around noticeably by 2012 I don't think Obama will be the nominee
I'm aware that Reagan's first term wasn't looking promising for him midway through the first two years but things did turn around enough for him to claim success and win renomination and reelection.

If things are still broken by 2012 Obama won't even make it past the convention and if he does I think people will be of the mind of "well, his way isn't working so...."

22. Meaning that if someone handed her the keys to the White House...
...she would happily pose for photographs in front of it.

She still has nothing to offer beyond Being Pretty, and expects the Pretty to do the work.
