Police Officer Uses Taser On 10-Year-Old Girl
http://www.4029tv.com/news/21638427/detail.html

OZARK, Ark. -- Ozark police said they were called to a home where a mother asked for help with her unruly child, but the 10-year-old's father said he's outraged at the force police used against his daughter.

"I would like to say Ozark police Tased this little girl right here. Ten years old and shot electricity through her body, and I want to know how the heck in God's green earth can they get away with this," said the girl's father, Anthony Medlock.

Medlock said his daughter was at her mother's house when Ozark police Officer Dustin Bradshaw shocked her in the back with a Taser and arrested her.

"If you can't pick the kid up and take her to your car, handcuff her, then I don't think you need to be an officer," Medlock said.

Who knew 10-year-old girls could be so threatening!

1. "The officer did shock the girl after he said she kicked him in the groin."

She's lucky he didn't shoot her with his gun that has real bullets in it.

12. I suppose we're lucky he didn't have a Taser Shotgun.
Or a Taser Grenade, for that matter.

6. Why didn't you include the parts where she was physical first?
Of course I don't condone tasing a child, but you left out key parts.

9. I'm not, but there were key parts left out of the story. Many

here won't even go far enough to read the whole story. I believe someone said it well when they asked why would the cops even need to be called for a 10 year old. Tasing can be grossly abused and is sometimes. I can't imagine a 10 year old child being tased. The cop was assaulted. It is screwy. But she is only 10.

18. They're only key if it makes any difference.

Nothing justifies what that cop did. The pertinent detail of the story is the fact that a taser was used on a ten year old. I'm sure most people can assume that a cop didn't just randomly decide to taser just any old ten year old out of the blue.

8. Taser is more force than should had been applied.
Either the officer should had called for another officer or thrown a blanket over the girl to subdue her.

You're a real American hero, Officer Bradshaw! :patriot:

Give an authoritarian asshole a hammer and all his problems start to look like nails.

11. Any cop that can't/won't subdue a 10 year old child without a taser
doesn't belong on the police force. It would be like someone trying to be a high-rise construction worker with no arms, legs, eyes, or ears. This is ridiculous. Take his badge and throw him in jail for 5 years for assaulting a minor with potentially deadly force or something like that.

14. Completely agree
he was probably just pissed off because she kicked him in the nuts, and anyone with that lack of restraint should not have a badge. He's lucky he didn't kill her- I don't see any reason to use a Taser on a child.

and aren't there any specific rules on WHO police can use tasers on?
From the elderly, to kids, we keep hearing these stories.

22. I can't begin to even think that these have been tested on kids
What kind of parent would consent to their child taking part in such a study? And would it be legal anywhere but some horrible gulag of a country?

17. I feel sorry for the child
mommmy and daddy apparantly lack in the parenting department. If mommy told the cop to taser the child....another huge issue...

So what if the child was throwing a tantrum....tasing is not the answer
<snip>
According to a police report, the officer was called to the home by the mother and witnessed the child kicking and screaming.
<snip>

As for the cop he is a grown ass man and if he is unable to handle a 10 year old child then that reduces his chance of handling anyone 11 and up.

Cop probably should be wearing a cup too...just sayin..

There is something terribly wrong in the good ole USA!!
