Poll question: Has anybody on DU bought Palin's book?
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 05:20 PM by arcadian
There is so much talk of it here I know that some must have bought it, at least out of curiosity. Remember, your vote is anonymous so you can say yes and no one will shame you. Or you can claim yes and say that you are conducting "oppositional research".

6. A good place to hide books
Sometimes they put these little cardboard space dividers on the shelves that say stuff like "On Sale Now!", they are usually hollow. You can stuff 2 or 3 back in there.

31. Bwahahaha!
You're serious? Actually those books become unsold product, something that publishers and book sellers look at.

34. They become a major Pain In the Ass when some poor schlep has to do inventory
If you don't like Palin there are far more constructive ways to express your disapproval of her.

She has every right to make money, but it won't be off me. I won't even read it for free in the library.

18. Jeez
I started reading that post, and thought that person has a LOT more staying power than me. My version would read:

Page 1: Unbelievably juvenile blather.

Page 2: Well, it's good and original. But what's good isn't original, and what's original isn't good.

Flip through the remainder of the pages, thinking "This just goes on and on!"

Hit liquor cabinet.

27. I don't want to die shot at a B&N.
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 06:20 PM by Lost-in-FL
 Actually, that is what I want, to get her to sign the coloring book.

I was at a B&N yesterday and Mike Huckabee happen to be there. I saw how tight security was in that place (not by police but the local church guides). It is difficult. Glenn Beck will be there Friday so I guess it is Loony Month at the B&N. Palin will be there on the 24th.

8. It's bad enough that it's discussed here at all
but to buy it is beyond the pale, even for opposition research.

Her importance doesn't warrant the attention she gets.

13. Only the lurking Freepers, I'd predict....
At least when you throw $$ away on the lottery, it builds parks and trails--or schools, depending on where you are. What on earth would anyone get from Palin's book, except an overpriced (and embarrassing) doorstop?

39. Hard to resist with this sample of literary genius:
“With the grey Talkeetna Mountains in the distance and the first light covering of snow about to descend on Pioneer Peak, I breathed in an autumn bouquet that combined everything small-town America with rugged splashes of the Last Frontier.”
