Clayton Georgia teacher charged with putting "hit" on Gay student
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 03:22 PM by FreeState
WTF?

http://www.ajc.com/news/clayton/clayton-teacher-charged-with-200153.html

Clayton County schools are investigating charges a teacher threatened a student after questioning the teen's sexuality.

Randolph Forde, a teacher at Mundy’s Mill High School, remains on administrative leave with pay, schools spokesman Charles White said Monday.

...Snip....

According to the student's attorney, Forde pulled the 16-year-old student out of class and asked him if he was gay.

"A child’s sexuality is never a teacher’s business," said Marcia Killebrew, the student's mother. "I feel like the man was being extremely inappropriate."

The next day, the teacher got into a verbal altercation in an algebra class, said Madden.

“The teacher threatened to hit him in his ‘f-ing mouth,’” Madden said.

A few days later, Forde asked another student to “put a hit” on the teenager, according to a police report.

"The suspect advised to the witness that he would pay him to kill the victim," the report states.

The teacher wrote the victim's name on a note and showed it to another student on the school bus, the report says......

1. The fuck?!
This: " "A child’s sexuality is never a teacher’s business," said Marcia Killebrew, the student's mother. "I feel like the man was being extremely inappropriate." " is totally correct.

11. Just reading the last three lines above
Why was the teacher on the bus? driving? riding?
When the teacher showed the student on the bus the victim's name on a note, was that accompanied by the request to put a hit out on him? Or what?
What did the argument in Algebra class have to do with the situation? And was it this teacher, also named a special ed teacher elsewhere?

I'm left feeling like I just heard some gossip from a fuzzy neighbor, rather than being well informed about the sequence of events.

7. Maybe if we change the name.
If instead of fighting for marriage equality, we fight for marriage separate but equality civil unions for everyone then this sort of bigotry will stop.

:sarcasm:

12. Fuggen ignoramus

If I was that parent I'd retain a whole team of lawyers and bleed that dipshit and the school board dry.
That dipshit would never find any worthwhile employment ever again for the rest of his miserable life.

14. Astonishingly, Clayton is not even the most homophobic county in the Atlanta area
up until now, at least, that would be Cobb, on the other side of town. Their bigotry cost them a chance to host part of the 1996 Olympics!

http://www.nytimes.com/1996/05/07/us/anti-gay-resolution-repealed-in-georgia.html

After gay activists vowed to disrupt the running of the torch in Cobb County, an Atlanta suburb, to protest a similar ordinance there, the path (of the torch relay -Ed.) was re-routed and Olympic volleyball events were moved elsewhere.

Meanwhile, "inside the Perimeter" in Atlanta proper and near suburbs like Decatur, some of the most vibrant LGBT life in the country is taking place. Go figure.

18. Good gawd amighty!
This crap in addition to the 19 yr. old slain in Puerto Rico in a most hideous way. I would be outraged over this shit anyway, but I have a 19 yr. old son and one who is 16 and I can't imagine this fucked up stuff being done to them.

Jeebus, a fucked in the head teacher none the less in this instance.

Apologies for the swearing.
