Palin Advisor: Campaign 'Dysfunctional, Surreal'

MIAMI (CBS) ―

snip...
"There were so many distractions around Sarah Palin. She often had her children on the plane, the baby on the nook of her arm, her 6-year-old running up and down the aisle, the pregnant teenager," said Navarro. "There were a lot of things going on in her life as she was studying speech for each next event where she would land in two hours and speak in front of 30 thousand people."

It was so crazy that Navarro didn't get to brief Palin until the night before the interview while Palin and her 6-year-old daughter were getting pedicures.

"Sarah needed a 101 on so many issues. So you really had to start from step one explaining the differences between Latino and Hispanic," said Navarro. "She was very good at learning, though she was far from being an expert. She could dance around the subjects and could learn the catch phrases."

snip...
"Her book is titled "Going Rogue", and she had gone rogue. She was the spaceship gone off course and flying in its own orbit," described Navarro. "She would change speeches headquarters sent her. Change the schedule, not stick to schedule."

snip...
"She really trusted very few people by then and she clearly trusted him. She had a very close relationship with her children, with her daughters and she spent a lot of time with her baby. She would spend a lot of time holding him, talking to him, caressing him."

snip...
"She really wasn't into reading papers. I never saw her reading papers or clips."

re McCain...

snip...
"I've never heard him say anything bad. I haven't heard him say anything good, but never say anything bad," said Navarro.

9. More likely, she needs a GED-level course on American government.
Then she needs to STFU.

3. The most interesting part of this very scathing interview
is that there is no way in hell this lady did this without first contacting McCain and checking if it was OK.

She's obviously still got a good relationship with him and wouldn't burn him.

Very, very interesting......

4. Well, it's true -- that's exactly what the McCain campaign was.

And one of the most dysfunctional, surreal parts was Sarah Palin.

6. "Could learn the catch phrases"
I find this highly believable. When you listen to her remarks, you will be struck by the word salad that comes out. Sentences don't connect up with each other, stray thoughts come in from who knows where, one word in a sentence will prompt a whole nother thought that will fall out of her mouth without any logical flow. And she'll blather on with a smile and absolutely no hint on her face that the verbal diarrhea she's spouting makes no sense at all. She will complain later about her comments being taken out of context if someone has the temerity to question her, but the fact of the matter is that her comments don't have a context, at least not one that's discernible to the attentive listener. She runs through catch phrases, code words and sound bites that are pleasing to the ears of her target audience, and they don't seem to notice that she's not making any sense. "Sarah mentioned the troops!" "Hear that? She's talking about the End Times!" "Ohmigod, that was totally about the Rapture, but nobody got it!"

8. The funny thing is if Sarah looked like Eleanor Roosevelt or Golda Meier
the tea-baggers and (especially) the Freepers wouldn't give a rat's ass about her.

She sure as hell wouldn't have been up on stage at the Republican convention accepting a nomination to be the VP candidate. McCain's campaign made a gamble that woman would vote based on Palin's gender alone while men would vote for the MILF factor.

Fortunately, the better part of the oters showed that the McCain campaign grossly underestimated their intelligence and we were spared the embarrasment of having Palin represent the USA.
