Where is this "HUUUGGEEE " following for Palin I keep hearing R commenters talk about?
One by one they come on teevee and preface their comments with this statement. Given that 58% of people polled definitely would not vote FOR her and only 9% said they would definitely vote for her, this statement does not jive with reality. Not one person calls them on it.

2. You have to use the glen beck +/- intricate rationale
The "only 9%" you refer could actually be 84% saying they would definitely vote for her. Its right wing radio math. I've yet to get a teabagger to answer the question - "were you denied the right to vote in 2008?" Totally irrelevant logic to a "patriot" going to a tea party.

And did you know that that "only 9%" has the rest of us surrounded?

3. Help me with the math -- what's 60% of 20% of the electorate?
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 01:49 PM by rvablue
I keep hearing all of these numbers and yes, the numbers do NOT match the hype.

I've heard it over and over that 60% of Republicans would vote for her for President. Impressive, right? Actually, not. Because these same cablecritters also keep telling me that only 20% of the American electorate still identify as Republicans.

So, her support isn't the grand sounding 60% of Republicans. More realistically put, it's actually 60% of 20% of the American electorate.

Someone help me with the math. Let's see how abyssmal her fan club actually is.

And, sorry, the "big" book sales don't prove a single thing except that there are a couple of millions idiots in the country who are going to slap down some coin for her book. With or without the book, I wouldn've estimated this group of ideological voters to number several million more --- why aren't they buying her book? The fact remains, that there aren't enough of them to support (and vote for) a national candidate.

5. I hear you. I'd like to see a solid response by some of these
pundits "on our side" on this matter that reflects the accuracy of this because it is BS, a heaping steaming stinking pile of BS.

4. Hannity will pull out his ol' "9/12 Tea Bagger's Moment" video...
...and claim they're Palin supporters at a "Palin 2012" rally...until someone calls him on his horseshit, then he'll "apologize" and say it was "unintended..."

I wouldn't have heard squat about her or Levi since the election if not for her loyal following here posting about her every comment and move.

I'm surrounded by right-leaning types at work and I can only think of one that goes out of his way to slobber over her.

"She doesn't talk like the rest of them!" he said one day.

I told him it was because most politicians who rise to a certain level are educated.

13. You have to live in one of these deep scarlett states to see it, I think.
These freaks are everywhere around here, it's like they've found somebody that makes them feel better about their own insecurities, someone "like them".
