New Greenpeace head attacks Obama
Source: BBC

The new head of environmental group Greenpeace, South African Kumi Naidoo, says he will prioritise the impact of climate change on the world's poor.

A BBC reporter in Johannesburg says it reflects his background as a anti-poverty and anti-apartheid campaigner.

In a BBC interview, he also criticised the US president for failing to make the fate of the earth a priority.

He said Barack Obama no longer reflected the urgency about the planet he had during his election campaign.

1. Attack! Attack! Attack!!!!
Feet, meet fire. Fire, meet Obama's feet.

For the metaphorically challenged, the phrase "holding someone's feet to the fire" does not literally mean attacking their wingtips with matches and a bic lighter.

4. Attack? Hyperbole as headline, not the BBC headline obviously
The correct word is 'criticized' which they used, spelled as they spell it. The BBC knows what 'attack' and 'criticism' each mean and know that one is not the other.

6. I'd like to know why you wrote 'attack' in your headline.
Why the implication of violence? What is the objective of creating headlines in which the President is attacked, when what was done was merely well reasoned criticism? The choice of lexicon to include images of 'attack' shows that your objective differs from that of the BBC, to say the least.

9. Absolutely

Yep! Was there ever any doubt it would go this way?

The American people have their heads up their asses and the admin knows it. They know to really fight the good fight we'd all need to give up things...like our cars. Only carpooling allowed. We'd have to cut down our co2 foot print at home, less ac during the summer, maybe use a broom rather than an engine driven blower.
We are lazy and we will pay for it.

10. I get his disappointment, but I disagree
Obama doesn't have one thing to focus on in his job like Naidoo does. He also probably doesn't have "Green Dogs" undermining what he wants to do in his own organization. Maybe he'd be happier with Palin or Huckabee in 2012? We'll see what get's done then for the advancement of environmental ideals.

Though I'm sure he's not engulfed in the details of the current U.S. political environment as we are, he should realize who is really stopping the kind of climate and environmental change he thinks Obama should be focused on. The GOP and Blue Dogs. Attack them. When will the foreign leaders (Organizations, Countries, Regime's...) realize that the GOP is the problem and the creators of the majority of the U.S. selfishness and arrogance? I'm surprised more foreign $$ doesn't start influencing our elections. Obama would have tripled his donations last year.
