What could be worse than this?
It occured to me that it is just a matter of time until we see pop-up advertising on television, and us with no way to block them.

I want to scream in pain just speculating about it. What could be worse than this?

1. it already exists
in the corners of your screen, channels are constantly telling you what 'special movie event' is coming up or some claptrap such as that. it is only a matter of time until you see a double cheeseburger down there!

2. It's been in place for years, and our lives will never be the same.

The most tragic aspect of the ads in the corners of the screens and product placements is they are often far more entertaining than the program itself.

Oh, Theodore Cleaver. We do miss you.

3. It's here now, in the form of those ads for upcoming shows and other scheduled programs.
Not to mention the channel's logo permanently emblazoned on the screen.

4. I had to laugh at the halftime highlights during last night's game on ESPN.
They were showing some jaw-dropping catch, but their self-serving logo that occupied about 15% of the screen blocked out the receiver and his snag of the ball. God forbid that they remove their f***ing ad for their upcoming "ESPN Exclusive Movie" to show the highlight.

Meh.

6. Have you noticed the new way to add more commercials?
Credits are rolling (really fast) at the bottom while show is still on. Saves 30 seconds so they can show more commercials. It's winter so it must be mucus products. If I hear one more person hacking and coughing on the screen, I'm gonna scream. Bad enough I had to sit in front of a woman hacking and coughing all the way through "The King and I" on Sunday.

7. What could be worse? my god man, the end of TV!!! that's all!!!!
I mean, honestly, I think the living would be jealous of the dead!!! (thank you Krusty).

Or heaven forbid, someone forgets to turn it on or worse, accidentally bumps into it and shuts it off!!!

I don't think I would know what to do in that case? I mean, the TV is always on. I'm not sure where the off and on button is!!!

Sigh.
