On ABC--Barbwa Wawa does fluff piece on Sarah Palin
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 08:21 AM by WI_DEM
Just watching GMA showing Barbara Walters doing an interview with Sarah Palin. It is a complete fluff piece. Summing it up Walters says she found Palin "very confident and very appealing." And when she answered a question by saying "Bo-crap" it was a reminder of why people initially found her so appealing.

No tough questions like how can you handle the pressures of the presidency--when you had to bail out half way thru your term as Governor of Alaska?

On Edit:
Here's the teaser they just gave for the next half-hour: Sarah Palin will rate Barack Obama's performance as president! I just can't wait!!!!!

1. I'm sure the fluff was a precondition to getting the interview in the first place

4. Sarah Palin: A known, documented LIAR.
A verified incurious, uninformed person.

A hypocrite. An adultress.

A drop out when the going got tough in the Alaska Governor's office.

Yeah, a real maverick that woman is.

It's about time for Baba Wawa to retire, don't you think? Fluff interviews do nothing except distract from the valid concerns about this woman. Please, her 15 minutes must be coming to a close soon...

5. An adultress?
Have you any proof?

I really hate hyperbole and/or exaggeration or outright fiction (and I'm no fan of Palin, believe me).

7. Your favorite search engine is your friend.
Just search for "Palin affair with husband's business partner" or something to that effect. You'll find lots of links.

In addition, the reporter from Alaska who appears on Countdown fairly regularly also commented that it's a pretty well known fact in Alaska that Sarah had an affair with Todd's former business partner.

Levi Johnston alluded to it as well, and said that Sarah and Todd don't sleep together anymore.

You can decide for yourself, I've decided the woman is pure trash.

9. Her 15 minutes?
That no-talent gossip has been around forever. I remember thinking that Gilda Radner's spot-on parody of her would sink her into the oblivion in which she belongs. Gilda's been dead for 20 years.

13. *sigh*
She makes me miss Gilda all the more. Gilda and Tina Fey would have a field day with this one.

15. It's probably not perfectly clear in my post, but I was referring to Palin, not Wawa.
I hadn't had enough coffee when I wrote that. ;)

8. That's What Bawa Does...
There's this unwritten rule about celebrity books and interviews...you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. You give a softball interview about Mooselini's "book" and the publishers will push your book (all the talking heads write 'em) or give you the next big "get". Honestly, what does Bible Spice have to say of any substance? Even with the softball interviews she provides lies and gaffes that will replace the ones she threw out last year.

After its all said, all the hype in the world can't hide how shallow and inept Palin is. She's become more a national freak show than a true political leader and this "book" amplifies the negatives about her more than the positives. It also showcases the scam relationship between the corporate media that only looks at things in ratings and the book biz that have tremendous influence on the people who we see on the teevee and how "tough" of an interview they get.

10. Good! The longer Palin is politically solvent, the bigger a problem she is for the GOP.

11. She's doing a press tour for a book
Do you really expect the media to be clamping down on her over a book that's light on any real policy issues?

I'll save my outrage for if they give her similar softball treatment when she starts officially running for office again.

12. Yep, I do expect them to ask tough questions
such as did she resign the governorship so she could devote her time to raking in money and making a press tour for her book.

14. Anyone paying attention will know that Barbara Walters has been phoning it in for the past
several years.

She's the parade magazine of TV.

16. They ran part of it on the evening news
right after they reported that Obama's approval rate is still high, here came the moose determining that "most Americans do not support him."
