You read a bit on a science novelty site and all of a sudden you're a more trusted expert than the actual scientists who have provided links to the use of DU and horrific birth defects and cancers? I really have no idea what you're trying to prove here. It's not like the jury is still out on this one.

2. Something to understand...

After a depleted uranium tank round smashes through a tank or some other target, the kinetic energy involved (enough kinetic energy to send a baseball to the Moon) will pulverize the tank round, and convert at least some of that depleted uranium into dust.

Some of that dust may get in the soil, perhaps into the water supply. And some of that dust may become airborne and be breathed by people (yes, I'm sure you'll explain that the alpha radiation from DU won't penetrate the skin. It does just fine causing radiation damage if you ingest it - particles in the lungs could cause lung cancer, if you drink it or some DU gets absorbed into your bloodstream, that's when it starts irradiating your internal tissues, and your skin won't be able to stop it.)
