Actor who played The Equalizer dead at 79

THE man best known for starring in the SSRq80s TV series The Equalizer has died.

British actor Edward Woodward won an Emmy for the role of a former secret agent who atoned for past bad deeds by offering his services as a pro bono problem solver and investigator.

He told AP Radio in 1989 that he was so convincing that people would ask him to help them solve problems they had with their landlord and other people.

He also starred in the cult film The Wicker Man, which Exorcist author William Peter Blatty once said was the scariest movie ever made.

Woodward was 79.

13. That's what I remember him best for
LOVED the original "Wicker Man"...Woodward as Sgt. Howie was amazing...If you've only seen the horrible Nicholas Cage remake, you owe it to yourself to check out the original...one of the most unique movies ever made...

14. What a good actor.
"Breaker" Morant is a really good film.

I always wondered why he stayed with that silly toupee so long. It looked awful. I guess before Capt Picard bald wasn't "in".

15. I really liked him he played in a lot of movies
and whenever I found one on he was in I would watch it. He did have heart problems. I think that had something to do with them cancelling the show. I think he had an operation while it was on.

18. Someone needs to make a sequel to the Wicker Man.
That was the most disturbing movie I had ever seen. I refused to see it when Nicholas Cage reprised the role. I caught my husband watching it as I walked by the room and I told him that he would hate himself for it when it was over. I knew when the movie ended, because I heard this long dissatisfied AAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHH, coming from the other end of the house.
