Major retailers reportedly selling Palin's Going Rogue below cost
Edited on Mon Nov-16-09 11:41 PM by mcablue
Walmart.com dropped price from list price of $28.99 to $10, then to $9 and below as other retailers matched it. On October 15, Walmart.com began offering preorders of Going Rogue, along with nine other new book releases, for $10. After Amazon.com reportedly matched the price, Walmart.com "struck back, slashing its prices to $9" . Amazon also dropped its price to $9 . Target.com joined in the price war, prompting Walmart.com to drop its price further . By November 5, Walmart.com was selling the book for $8.98, Target.com was selling it for $8.99, and Amazon was selling it for $9. The respective retailers were still selling the book at those prices as of November 16. All three retailers give the book's list price as $28.99. Screen shots of the November 5 prices are below

No wonder these right-wing books become best-sellers. Ann Coulter's books were inflated too.

19. Simply printing it is fairly cheap, about 2-3 bucks per copy
Depending on things like the method used, type of paper and amount of color illustrations.

Then you have to pay for shipping, royalties, advertising, marketing and salaries of everyone involved.

It all adds up.

9. She's a nitwit. How could her book be interesting to anyone but a nitwit.
I find it disgusting that this country can devote so much air time to such a dim creature.

We have a long way to climb in order to call ourselves civilized.

You couldn't pay me to take her book. I've got better things to do. Like hammering nails.

15. It's $14.50 on Amazon today.
I wonder how many copies will be purchased but never read. Ironically, Palin's most dedicated supporters are those least likely to be capable of reading a 432-page book. The longest text they can handle are tweets and Facebook posts, apparently. Oh, and the Bible.
