Despite all the questions asked about Sarah Palin, her interviews, her book, her ceaseless spouting
of non sequiturs, the question I'd most like to hear addressed has not been asked: What does Sarah Palin's continued popularity with the GOP base, despite her painfully transparent inadequacies and the hateful nature of her most rabid fans, say about the Republican party?

1. The same thing that their love of Bush
demonstrated - they don't care which fool occupies the WH since they have an inner group running the show.

6. Nothing we didn't already know.
The Republican base is driven by selfishness, bigotry and fear--and a little dab of spit-flecked fundie lunacy. Palin can do the whole shtick effortlessly--she looks like she means it because she does. She's the first major Republican politician to come along since Joe McCarthy who's just as mean and dumb as the Republican base.

7. Tried to think of another Pub since McCarthy who was "just as mean and dumb as the Republican base"
but couldn't come up with one. Closest I came was the Bush ADMINISTRATION: Sarah has Cheney's attitude and Bush's IQ.

8. I had this conversation with a Repug co-worker
it absolutely blows my mind....

I say to him, "Sarah couldn't even answer a simple question of what she was reading"

He says, "She was strategic by not answering the question because they would have picked on her"

I said, "But she is running for the 2nd highest seat in government and this wasn't really a hard question"!

I said, "Sarah continues to play the victim, she uses her sexuality and her religion to distract from the tasks at hand....like simple question"

He says, "You don't know her, you might like her if you talked to her".....

Sigh..."I say let's just say I did like her it still does not make her fit for the VP position"....

Sigh...that whole conversation made me tired!! :banghead:

9. Because she's attractive and has an attractive family.
And let's face it, when you have an ideology as ugly as repukes', you need pretty window dressing for it.
