My most excellent encounter with 2 Fundie lawyers.
I'm helping a disabled friend through a divorce (she's married to a classic sociopath), and was asked by both her and her lawyer, to attend the mediation with her.

Both her lawyer and the mediator are members in good standing of the SC "good old boys" club, which means they are rabidly right wing rep.fundies.

While I must say they did a great job of getting her a good settlement, during the deliberations, it became quite obvious they didn't like Obama, especially her lawyer. I kept quiet until he referred to him as an SOB, and that Communist, and that's when I broke out in hysterical laughing.

The lawyer: "What's so funny?"

Me: "You are!"

Lawyer: "Why?"

Me: "His parents were married, he's not a commie, he's not a socialist, hell, he's not even liberal! Notwithstanding all that, even if he was a commie, it would be better than the last 8 years with those Fascists you elected! And, oh, by the way, what are you going to do for a political party once the GOP is extinct?"

Lawyer: "Uh......Uh.....Uh....."

I think he was so shocked to find a liberal in Charleston, it just blew his mind. Think of it--a speechless lawyer! It's a freekin' miracle!

1. Good job. Even better that it was a lawyer who should be able to articulate a position
instead of reciting slogans.

5. They were trying to ensure that the settlement would include any economic changes,
ie, hyper-inflation, prolonged recession, depression. During that part of the discussion, the lawyer said words to the effect that you couldn't trust that communist in the WH with the economy, and that he had to make sure my friend was taken care of financially.

At least his heart was in the right place, as far as looking out for her best interests; however, his brain was disengaged while his mouth was in motion.

4. Male lawyers wear neckties to keep their foreskins from enveloping their heads and suffocating them
Non the less, great respose to that idiot. Kudos to that lady for speaking her well ordered mind glowing with such common sense.

6. DUzy!
I had a friend who gave an ER doctor a condom as a going away present, with instructions to wear it on his head. She told him as long as he was going to act like a dickhead, he should use protection. I guess it's not confined to just lawyers!

7. !
 I may borrow that one. I think it could apply to a lot of necktie wearers, not just law-buyers.
