Storm Waves Hits Britain's coast

The moment a giant wave swamps the 60ft sea wall at Porthleven in west Cornwall. An onlooker said it was the biggest wave he'd seen in Cornwall in more than 40 years

Spectacular weather conditions blow these waves, dwarfing this lighthouse in Porthcawl ( dailymail.co.uk )

This happened this weekend.

1. Frightening. The raw power in that wave could sweep Cornwall away in an instant.
As I recall, isn't that kind of what happened to Lisbon long ago?

2. No, Lisbon was an earthquake-generated tsunami
It also didn't help that the Lisbon Earthquake struck right around breakfast, when everyone's cooking fires were piled high with wood/coal.

7. Wow - incredible
Beautiful and frightening visuals in the OP and this vid. Maybe mother nature is at the end of her patience. I hope she's not a big believer in corporal punishment - and I hope we get in line before she has no choice.

Note to humankind -- one day soon Mother Nature is going to remind us who's boss on this planet.

8. Holy CRAP! You win! Even when we get hurricanes down here in FL, they don't get larger than 20ft.
