Hundreds attend vigil outside of LIEberman's home in Connecticut
Edited on Mon Nov-16-09 09:08 AM by madinmaryland
STAMFORD -- Quietly holding candles, hundreds of clergymen, congregants and reform advocates lined the sidewalks outside Independent U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman's Stamford home Sunday night in a show of support for universal health care.

"When we heard not only would he vote against it, but he'd use his power, his position as a swing vote ... to block it from coming to a vote, we had to send a message so he knows people who vote overwhelmingly favor the public option," said Rabbi Stephen Fuchs, of Congregation Beth Israel in West Hartford.

In September, Lieberman said that while he supports health care reform, he would not vote for a health care bill that included a public, or government-funded, option.

"If the only bill raised in the Senate has a public option ... I wouldn't vote for it," Lieberman said during a Sept. 2 interview. "There will be no shot at 60 votes because I'm not the only one. Not a single Republican has said they will vote for a public option."

this won't phase him at all. He's nothing but a paid corporate tool for the health scare industry.

If I were Joe Lieberman I would certainly hesitate and do some serious thinking.

4. Didn't hear a word about this protest on the 'news', just about a couple of hundred tea-baggers in
PA and anti-immigration protests in AZ.

11. Yeah. Absolutely no coverage outside of Connecticut.
If I didn't check CT newspapers online, I would have never known about this. I lived in CT for 20+ years and like to keep up with what is going on there.

5. Lieberman is siding with his BFF
McCain. He also thought he would be McCain's Vice Presidential running mate after campaigning with him and got thrown under the bus. Reid said JL was the least of his worries. Really, I can't tell. Democrats should throw JL under the bus and run over him.

7. I think those close enough to be able to
should follow him every place he goes. To restaurants, to rallies, DC and every where this little weasel goes and do a silent protest. I know if I were in a restaurant and he walked in I would have every one at my table walk out in disgust and let him know it.

10. WHY has Lieberman
not been stripped of his chairmanship of HS, stripped of staff and given a storage closet next to the boiler in the basement for an office?

We are in charge, goddammit! All that is within the Dems power. This fuck needs to be punished!
