Take Rep. Kevin Brady's (Wingnut-TX) "2009 National Issues Survey"!
It's on the back page of a mailout I received the other day. Gotta love the bias here on several levels- in terms of what questions are asked in the first place, how they are worded, and what answer options are available.

1. How do you feel about the direction America is headed?

___ Satisfied
___ No Opinion
___ Worried
___ Very Worried

2. As a taxpayer, do you feel like Washington is listening to your concerns?

___ Yes
___ No
___ No Opinion

3. Do you think the amount of Washington spending is on the:

___ Right Track
___ Wrong Track
___ Frightening
___ Undecided

4. Do you think the $787 billion stimulus bill has?

___ Helped the Economy/Added Jobs
___ Hurt the Economy/Added Debt
___ Too Soon to Know

5. Should Congress enact Congressman Brady's Spending Reform Act to start to control spending?

___ Yes
___ No
___ Undecided

6. Will a government-run "public option" health care plan result in lower health care costs?

___ Yes
___ No
___ Undecided

7. Should any national health care plan cover illegal immigrants?

___ Yes
___ No
___ Undecided

8. Do you support or oppose the "cap and trade" legislation being considered in Congress?

___ Strongly support
___ Support
___ Oppose
___ Strongly oppose

9. To reduce the deficit, do you support:

___ Raising taxes
___ Cutting spending
___ Both

10. Should immigration reform reject amnesty or a "path to citizenship" for illegal immigrants currently living in the USA?

___ Yes
___ No
___ No Opinion

1. My answers
1. I checked "satisfied", "worried", and "very worried" and wrote "Depends on the aspect being considered..."

2. I checked "yes" and "no" and wrote "some are, some aren't; same as it's always been..."

3. I checked "undecided" and wrote "the amount is not the issue as much as what many lawmakers' priorities are."

4. I checked all three options (scratching out the "hurt the economy" part of the second choice) and wrote "It has helped. It has also added debt. It is also too soon to know its full impact."

5. I checked "no" and wrote in "Sounds like pointless grandstanding for the right-wing base." (His proposed bill is some idiocy involving rescinding unspent portions of the stimulus package.)

6. I checked "yes" and "undecided" and wrote in "A strong one that is allowed to work would, but I'm sure the Repubs and Blue Dogs will thwart any attempt to implement a strong public option."

7. I checked "yes."

8. I checked "support."

9. I checked "both."

10. I checked "no."

I'm sure Congressman Brady's office will give my responses to the survey the utmost consideration. :eyes: He's such a joke... No doubt the vast majority of the folks who will actually return the survey are bigger wingnuts than he is, but it was oddly enjoyable (if pointless) filling out his silly for-teabaggers-only "survey" if only to be obnoxious.
