And maybe longer if we don't stop pretending the GOP cares about our feelings.

1. No he wont. Are you not watching the hearings?
We all know the GOP doesn't care about our feelings, or anyone's feelings. What does that have to do with Gonzo being a lying/incompetent jackass?

4. Gosh, but I hope so.
After these hearings, he's pretty well denutted. We couldn't do better than to have Dear Leader back him all the way.

5. Gonzo is gone. The Repo congress can't let this continue to spread. They need
to throw Gonzo under the bus to save their own skin and the White House.

Dominiche is already looking at ethics hearings, The implicit and explicit stench of political corruption is hitting the White house and others in Congress.

The sooner gone the better for the Repos.

They will cut their losses and wish they'ed done so sooner.

Look at the e-mail scandle, the "voter fraud" aspects of using USA's in voter suppression, the appearence of interfering in the prosecution of corrupt Repo law makers.

They would prefer to let Gonzo go down as imcompetant than to go all theose other places.

6. I think he's as good as gone and as bad as Schumer says he is.
Even the thickest Republican knows the DoJ has been manipulated and stunk up.

He's headed for the exits as we speak.

10. This Dictatorship does not care what the people/Congress want!
PissyPants is probably napping, DeadEye is polishing his gun, Matlin and Malkin are boiling bats while we enjoy the theater. This Traitor(to the Constitution) will stay on. The cabal that has taken over America has no interest in what this nation stood for. How do we restore America should be the debate.

13. Agree that this administration is packed with fools and thieves, but
this performance by Gonzales was explosively bad.

He's out of there.

12. They will leave Alberto in office until the end...
Frankly, I hope they do. The drip, drip, drip of Bush incompetence will be visible on a daily basis and with all the Senate seats up in 2008 even the typically disorganized senate Dems ought to be able to stumble through to a veto proof Senate.

17. By what method?
Will they go to the WH and demand that Rove fire him or will they sign onto articles of impeachment?

I don't think they will do either - the Repubs are frozen in place. They have a real leadership vacuum in their party - perhaps because most of them are either actually corrupt themselves or have been corrupted by the process of supporting Bush.

18. Their self preservation insticts haven't been dulled in the least.
They will do whatever it takes to survive.

Gonzales will make the decision for the good of the country and to spend more time with his family...

Bush will regret that the Dems have been so unfair and partisan as to drive a good man like Gonzales from government service.

Or something equivant to that. Maybe Gonzales will suffer a heart attack because of the oppresive tactics of the Dems. Doesn't matter, Gonzo is gone.

because this has drug on so long and stunk up the place.

Remember Don Rumsfeld?

From the Dem point of view, This AG scandle is the gift that keeps on giving.....

method of removal but I guess your take is that the Repubs will force the WH to remove Alberto.

22. I said, whatever it takes. They won't prefer impeachment over a nice
quiet resignation, that's for sure.

I seriously doubt it will get that far, though.

Or do you suppose there will be a lot of Repos counting on the bush administration folks to campaign with them in 08?

23. The Repubs will not want Bush or Cheney to campaign with
them. On the other hand, they will need them to raise funds. It is a tough calculation for the Repub Senators. For that reason I don't believe they will ask Bush to pull Alberto down.

Look at what money won for them in 06.

It didn't. Every single congressional Dem was re-elected, and the Repos lost races even where the incumbant Repo substantially outspent the Dem challenger.

16. The Chimp has now drenched Gonzo in his urine - it's a matter of territory and turf
Once the Chimp raises his hind leg and sprays someone or some thing with a shot of his pee, it becomes a part of him and he will fight to the end to keep it.
