7. I think it has multiple meanings
The "$" character has something to do with file names/programming that I'm too ignorant to define. I would assume $'error alludes to Ms. Palin being a system error. As well, the "$" character is an obvious reference to her greed. That's my guess, anyway.

4. I still like Balin Palin
I like it so much I created a web site with that domain just to show the world how much normal and smart people hate her.

from a commenter on Mudflats. It seemed so appropriate. Comment #28 here: http://www.themudflats.net/2009/11/14/page-57-goes-rogue/?cp=1

If I recall correctly, $’error said Bristol was named after Bristol, Connecticut because that is where Fox News was based. But, of course Fox News wasn’t based there at that time of Bristol’s birth.

So the hits keep coming. She pretty much just makes up whatever best suits the occasion. I’m pretty sure she was the first woman to land on the moon, also, too. The foremost expert in_______ (fill in the blank).

The $ sign for obvious reasons, since that's all she's interested in, and 'error' because she is one. Maybe Alaskans are a little more cognizant (and ashamed, since we elected her) than others, but at least we see the "error" of our ways.

(Mandatory disclaimer -- I did not vote for her...ever.)

13. No idea.

I assumed it was because $ is used as a wild card in some scripting/languages in much the same way * is.
So (wild card)error would imply someone was wrong about absolutely everything.
