Unemployed Mother of 5 Arrested for Robbing Banks
TEMECULA -- An unemployed mother of five is accused of robbing four banks in the past two months, two in Riverside County and two in San Diego county.

Police in Temecula arrested Roxanne Renee Pennock, 37, last week after stopping her minivan on Interstate 15 near state Route 76 shortly after a Chase Bank in Temecula was held up.

Police say they found evidence in Pennock's van connecting her to the crime.

---------------

After her arrest, Sheriff's deputies searched Pennock's home in Poway, where she lives with her husband, four sons and a daughter. They found evidence at the residence linking her to all four robberies, according to Poway sheriff's Sgt. Baven Coff.

---------------

Pennock had worked at the Costco in Poway earlier this year but was laid off.

Neighbors say Pennock told them she had recently come into some much-needed money that she was using to pay bills.

3. Banks don't like robberies, unless they're doing the robbing.

5. Armed robbery with a semi-automatic - no sympathy here - if she is guilty throw her in jail!
I don't want her pointing a gun in my face.

15. I don't feel any sympathy for this woman, either.
I'm going through a rough time right now economically and there are many services I have been denied because I don't have dependents. It hasn't occurred to me to take up robbery yet.

Then again, I made the mistake of wandering in to GD, so I'm sure to be skewered.

18. I agree
I have no sympathy for her...

Had it been a black woman, would the media and the public have sympathy?

I don't think so...

16. Five kids and no sympath?
What kind of horrible person are you? Any real compasionate person would help her rather than hurt her like repukes and your kind want to do.

20. Suppose some other mother of five had been in the bank at the time
the bank-robber-mother marched in brandishing her weapon?

Perhaps it's my childfree status, but I don't believe in giving a break to a dangerous person just because that person happens to be a parent. We will have to agree to disagree here.

22. There are many mothers of children who do not rob banks

Sorry, but she is unfit to raise children, and they should be taken from her.

She is a violent criminal, who is doing no one any good by "providing" for her children by threatening the lives of others.

24. it's in the dictionary, somewhere between........
sucks to be her, sucks worse to be the tellers of the bank who had a gun stuck in their faces. Personally, my compassion is reserved for the tellers and their families who will have to deal with the events over the years to come. Been there, done that, wouldn't wish it on anyone.

She wasn't on some grand 'Robin Hood' crusade, it wasn't da man behind the counter.... it was real life people, working at their job who had some *person* walk in and wave a weapon. The implication, if not actual threat is, give me what I want, or I will kill you.

I can find "sympath" for the people in the bank. I can find it for her husband and kids. I just can't seem to find any for her. Go figure.

10. Why Do You Rob Banks?.... Because That's Where The Money Is..
It's ironic.. that money is nothing more than zeros and 1's on a computer screen. (just ask Goldman Sacs)

Yet in America.. people are foreclosed... put out of their home by the local Sheriff acting as enforcer for the banks..denied credit and refused honest work.

Yet everyone is OK with this.. WTF?

14. she was 37, maybe the $20 she would get for selling her body wouldn't have paid her bills
Edited on Sun Nov-15-09 10:42 PM by pitohui
some common sense please

i know you're making a funny but how many bjs would a 37 yr old have to give to pay her bills this month?

there's no way that being a whore would work out for her

the sex industry has truly been hard hit by this recession, not that anybody not in the industry gives a fuck, if you're a guy and it will never happen to you, you can always pretend that any woman has a fallback plan of being able to sell herself

not in this economy, bub

19. I agree and disagree...
...I hope you're not saying that because she was 37 she would get only $20..I thought you were saying that the sex industry is not producing the money-making potential it once was - and you'd be right.
As an exotic dancer I am classified under 'sex worker'; and my money is not good...not good at all.

25. Rob a few banks: Go to jail. Rob millions of working class people through fraud: Get billions.
Gotcha. It's funny how the US has proven itself to be little better than most nations in the world where the rich make all the rules, and the poor have to live by the rules. New World...my ass.
