Chase bank modifies mortgage, then sells home anyhow
Moral: Chase's foreclosure and modification departments are not on the same page. "Too big," indeed.
Bank Accidentally Sells Couple’s Home
PHOENIX -- Despite being up-to-date on their modified mortgage payments, a Valley couple found Chase foreclosing on their home.

"You work so hard. Put a lot of money down on your house. You pay your taxes. You pay your mortgage, and it's all stolen from you,” said Jeff Zerner, the homeowner.

He and his wife, Yanthy, found out about the foreclosure when the new owner posted a notice on their door Nov. 4.

“I get this notice that says you have five days to vacate the property,” he said. “So I called the number (on the notice) and I say, ‘Who are you?’ and they say, ‘We're the legal owners of this house. It went up for foreclosure."

3. Chase wants to see where they go from here
If it was me they'd be paying me back every cent I ever paid them, they'd either be trying to get the house I was in back or be buying me a new house of my choosing out of their own fucking pockets.

6. accidental my butt--I have several friends who are trying to deal with chase right now-
that bank must employ the truly brain-dead, or consummate liars. it has been a nightmare for all of them--and I used to think countrywide was the worst.

oh--and when one of my friends finally got someone to say more than five words to her, the woman at chase said, "don't blame us, it's all obama's fault--we haven;t gotten any of the money we were supposed to".

I hope this couple ends up with a really wonderful house, free and clear.

how in the HELL is it possible to set up a system where two important divisions don't even talk to each other? how stupid does one have to be to do that?

9. I checked local Phoenix news websites. Nothing from any other than the one you found.
The one newspaper we have here didn't do anything on this story.

They get wise really really fast. Not only do they slap that late fee on the very same day your payment is due but they start calling.

10. At least this couple got some publicity so they will probably be made whole.
Many of us got blatantly ripped off and then found that nobody in state government will prosecute or even investigate.

They got me for about $50K.

11. The article says that they'll probably relocate the family.
But they didn't say which family they'd relocate! :grr: I hate bad reporting! If any family has to relocated, it should be the the new buyers, not the family living there.

Also, WTF, who buys a house without walking through it first? Obviously the new buyers didn't walk through it, as no doubt the real owners would have noticed that and I'm sure the bank doesn't hold keys. Which would be trespassing in spite of the fact that they hold the mortgage. I'd love to see this family sue Chase out of existence.

12. Bottom feeders.
People looking to cash in on nice cheap foreclosure prices. Banks take a lowball offer, then take the previous owners to court for the difference. Or write it off.
