I'm beginning to think Lou Dobbs has a point!
When you think about it, 90% or more of the current problems and issues in America could have been avoided if there had been stronger anti-immigration policies by Native Americans.

The most egregious example would have to be by the Wampanoag, who effectively extended welfare to a group of radical religious extremists who immigrated illegally to Plymouth. The well-meaning Wampanoag granted these radical extremists 1200 acres, and taught them to hunt and grow their own food. They were later rewarded by having the extremists brutally attack and steal their land. The Wampanoag should have repelled these illegal immigrants, or at the very least let them fend for themselves and starve.

Therefore, I suggest that all who oppose illegal immigration boycott Thanksgiving in protest. I encourage all concerned patriots to join anti-immigration sites and spread the word.

All Lou Dobbs followers and other patriots - send a message to Congress! Boycott Thanksgiving!

I don't think it can be denied that the world and humanity would be far better off today had they had executed the deluded assholes upon their uninvited arrival.

9. That's a cool picture huh? Do you know who those guys are?
The older gentleman on the right with the trapdoor Springfield is San Carlos Apache chief Geronimo. They 2 guys on the left with Winchesters are his brother in law and son, and the guy next to Geronimo with the Springfield carbine is his cousin.

That's one of my favorite pictures.

14. Yep, and you want to know the part that strikes me funny every time I see it?
Just guessing at their relative ages, mind you, but the elder gentlemen carry arms of an earlier technological design, while the younger men have more advanced weaponry.

Funny how that holds true, even to this very day. We seem to stick with what we are comfortable with.

10. I here-by label the syndrom Dobbs has as the "Lou Dobbs Syndrom".
Lou, like numerous other "conservative" pundits are finding themselves becoming more and more irrelevant by crazies like Beck, Hannity, O'Really, and Lumpberger who are making all the big bucks by being wacko. Dobbs and the rest of the wannabe's recognize that they have to get crazier if they want some of the wacko cash. I call it the Lou Dobbs Syndrom. I expect more to follow Lou's example.

Edited on Sun Nov-15-09 06:56 PM by dbonds
Mexico had some immigrants from the US move into the Texas region. The immigrants started a way, lost the Alamo, then had the US jump in and take the land from Mexico. (Grossly simplified version)

25. My favorite T-shirt has the Thanksgiving theme.
It shows a ragged bunch of Pilgrims standing in line, with an Indian doling out food.

The heading...

America's First Welfare Line

I'm looking forward to wearing it this Thanksgiving, and blowing RW minds!

34. This year at Denver March PowWow... the drawing on it is WONDERF
FUL! It is a true masterpiece.

I was invited to an Indian wedding in October, and I took the shirt with me. As I was showing it to the family who invited me to the wedding, so many people were looking at it and laughing. They loved it, and asked the same question.

Would you like for me to PM you with the name and contact info of the artist? I think you would really enjoy wearing this shirt!

37. Yes! Please! I had the honor of having a drum group letting me
sit in on a demonstration that they were giving. They allowed many of us to participate - but I really felt "something special". I will never forget my reaction of "wow! Just, Wow!" and how I looked around at the Teachers as they just smiled back knowingly, their smiles saying "yeah, you got it. that's what we're talking about."

Of course, a lot of the other people they invited wore the expressions of "I just don't get it." But I suspect they didn't want to "get it." It would go against too many of their preconceived "walls".

Sorry for getting side-tracked. Yes! Please pm me the info! :hi:

32. the Wampanoags were brutally attacked?
"By the 1670s the colonists, with 8,000 men under arms, felt strong enough to demand that the Pilgrims’ former dinner guests the Wampanoags disarm and submit to the authority of the Crown. After a series of settler provocations in 1675, the Wampanoag struck back, under the leadership of Chief Metacomet, son of Massasoit, called King Philip by the English. Metacomet/Philip, whose wife and son were captured and sold into West Indian slavery, wiped out 13 settlements and killed 600 adult white men before the tide of battle turned."

Sounds to me like you got that backwards.

So, the colonists demanded the Wampanoags "disarm and submit". When they did not, the settlers provoked a fight. The Wampanoags didn't provoke, the colonists did - including capturing and selling their leaders wife and son into slavery. That sounds pretty brutal to me!

But, please, pray tell how was the "tide of battle turned"? I would love to hear the rest of your story.

I may have started this thread as satire, but if you are game enough to try and justify the atrocities that have been committed against Native Americans - BRING IT ON!

Note: I am probably one of the whitest guys you have ever known. I am Scotch on both sides, both paternally and maternally: Anderson and Campbell. I have to use 48 SPF anytime I go out into the sun. Just wanted you to know before I am accused of any "cultural bias".

Edit to add: I see you live in Osawatomie, KS. Osawatomie, what a fine British name!
