Palin reminds me so much of the Fundies who fucked me up
When I was a Junior Higher, in 1982 at Valley Christian School (a fundie institution) any time you challeneged the teacher on facts, it was considered 'back talking.' So if the math teacher was wrong, you didn't correct them, you sat quietly, lest you be accused of 'back talking.'

Now with Palin all upset that the AP actually checked her facts, she is coming across like the assholes who taught me at that school. She is all upset because the AP is 'back talking' and not taking her word as gospel.

I tell ya, this country needs an enema!

1. If Palin says it, it's right.
Far, far right.

4. Could you imagine her as president. Sometimes I fear there are
enough fools in this country to make that real...

7. If that were to happen, expect a mass exodus of young, talented, entrepreneur types out
of this country. They're already pretty international in perspective and experience. They will leave.

12. Me too. They tell me that they'd rather create value in an environment that has a real safety
net that provides basic needs security while they take the risks of working for themselves.

14. Yep, same here, and they are talented. There are too many places in
the world to be than to hang out in America if Palin were to get in... it would be a condemnation of the mentality of this country to the world.

6. Try being raised by jackals like Palin!
Edited on Sun Nov-15-09 01:39 PM by CoffeeCat
My "parents" were both like Palin--narcissistic, fundie, pseudo-elitist fakes who abused their children in secret--but
portrayed a perfect image to the community.

My father would make fun of me because I cared about the poor. We were at a swanky party when he came up to me and said, "I
think I hear a homeless person scratching at the window...you care about those types, why don't you bring them a plate."

He also yelled at our U.S Senator because he was enraged at him for co-sponsoring the Americans With Disabilities Act. This
cut into my "father's" profits. He didn't want to make his bathrooms handicap accessible because of the costs. The kicker--my
"mother"--his wife, had polio as a child and is disabled and has trouble walking.

I could go on about the house of horrors that place was. However, we were supposed to maintain the image of the perfect family.
We never missed church, I can tell you that much.

These people seem annoying and self absorbed on the outside, but most people have no idea how insidious it is on the inside.

From the outside, we sense that they are racist. My father couldn't speak to anyone who wasn't white--without getting visibly
uncomfortable. He always told me that it wasn't his fault that minorities were lazy and stupid. My sister was at the mall
speaking with a friend who was Hispanic. My father grabbed her by the arm and forced her to go home because she was talking
to someone who wasn't white. These types deny that they're racist, but they all are--and they all find comfort in knowing
that their conservative cohorts are as well.
They're all sick.

11. I would like to credit them for starting me on my road to Atheism!
If I had been in a more moderate Christian setting, I may not have done as much research :)

15. I'm glad you did do the research, so many don't and just blindly go
along following in a mindless path how they were programmed. It is so sad watching some people in their ugly ways parroting their training and indoctrination with no truly independent thought.
