Palin accuses the AP of doing 'opposition research' in fact check
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/67805-palin-accuses-the-associated-press-of-doing-opposition-research-in-fact-check

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) went after the Associated Press on Sunday, accusing them of engaging in "opposition research" in fact-checking her forthcoming book.

Palin blasted the AP's fact check of her new book, "Going Rogue," which says the former governor had gone rogue with some of the facts.

"Amazingly, but not surprisingly, the AP somehow nabbed a copy of the book before it was released," Palin wrote on her Facebook page. "They're now erroneously reporting on the book's contents and are repeating many of the same things they spewed during the campaign and afterwards."

"We've heard 11 writers are engaged in this opposition research, er, 'fact checking' research!" Palin continued. "Imagine that – 11 AP reporters dedicating time and resources to tearing up the book, instead of using the time and resources to "fact check" what's going on with Sheik Mohammed's trial, Pelosi's health care takeover costs, Hassan's associations, etc."

21. I fear she is a sign of the times......
The Right, taking it's cues from the Left as they always do, seems to have decided that demanding a politician have reasonable levels of competency and experience is some sort of discrimination.

They insist on Affirmative Action for the Stupid and Incompetent.

4. She should also fact check the number of writers
I could be wrong but 10 are listed on the story.

Actually to have 10 do some third grade level reading and a google search would take about 10 to 20 min...I actually find that good project planning

5. When is anyone in the media going to start questioning her on this "I'm a victim" hysteria?
Every public figure goes through vetting.

And if you write a book, people in the media are going to check out the facts of what you write.

It's happened to everyone. She is no different.

This screeching and howling and facebooking and twittering that somehow she's been singled out is just downright ridiculous. When is someone in the media going to call her out?

Or, are they just too afraid that $'error is going to accuse them of doing "oppo research."

29. Cheney/Palin 2012!!! And 2016!!!
They can't run her enough, as far as I'm concerned. But yeah, what does she think--she can attack McCain's inner circle with impunity and they're somehow not allowed to respond? That nobody's allowed to check the veracity of her factual/historical claims, some of which just might be a tad self-serving? Of course she doesn't really think either of those things--she's just trying to spin, spin, spin the discussion in order to silence any kind of critique--the media are out to get her: here's more evidence. Just goes to show ya!

11. Her victimhood continues unabated.
This woman has a collossal sense of entitlement to think that her book shouldn't be checked for accuracy. If she could only grasp the fact that video taped interviews last forever on youtube she would realize that the press and the public were made aware of her inclination to lie about everything from the moment she entered the public arena.
The fact that she whines about being picked on by the Mccain campaign, the AP, the rest of the MSM and Levi Johnston on her facebook page tells her how very unserious she is. To believe her is to believe that she is surrounded forces that want to silence her and her inflated sense of importance is almost comical until you realize that a segment of the public buys into her nonsense and they see her as the cure for what ails this country.

31. You'd be surprised at how many people believe this- abput AP no less
The editors had to cut off the Oregonian's comment section on the fact check piece (something they rarely EVER do) presumably because every freak and paranoid conspiracy theorist came out of the woodwork, and made Republicans look really bad- actually, more like delusional and barking mad.

Which of course, a significant proportion are- though the publishers take great pains to keep folks from knowing that and my bet is that some of the comments re: "the evil media that dared check facts" were a little spooky.

Sort of disappointing though- there was a lot of comedy in there, and I getting IBTL.

36. If she was an honest person, she wouldn't have anything to be whining about
with the Associated Press. Beyond her obvious belief that government should control the press (well, only if Republicans are running the government) she really should have kept her mouth shut. But then, she really didn't have anything to write about in a book, either - unless this is supposed to be an entry into the fiction category.

Funny how she believes that fact-checking is "opposition" research - I'm wondering why her alleged editor didn't engage into some factchecking as well. And perhaps the ex-governor should return to school and learn to distinguish from "facts" and those delusions she so clearly prefers to manufacture inside her little head.

She really is the last person who should complain about erroneous reporting, since she has apparently made quite a career out of doing that herself.
