John Allen Muhammad destroys one of the principal memes of the Bush Administration
How many times did you hear this: "George W. Bush kept us safe. There have been no terrorist attacks in America since 9/11."

Well, except for the anthrax killer, who was definitely a terrorist. Oh, and let's not forget that except for homegrown terrorists like Operation Rescue, America never really had a terrorist problem until the Supreme Court installed one in the White House.

But what about John Muhammad and Lee Malvo? Y'know, when these two assholes were running around the DC area shooting people the whole country was scared stiff. I still remember the night of October 14. I was working at a Home Depot in North Carolina that night. After someone was killed in front of a Home Depot in Virginia, our home office called every HD store in the country: do not allow your associates to walk to their cars alone until the killers are arrested. Make sure they're in groups of at least two.

I think these guys were terrorists, destroying the Republicans' theory that Bush kept us safe.

2. Well, we're hearing it now
Every dumb fuck conservative talker out there is going on about how Fort Hood is the first act of terrorism since 9/11 - forgetting entirely about the snipers and anthrax.

8. We can only peripherally credit Tiller to the Bushes
George Tiller opened his clinic in 1975--and immediately drew the ire of the anti-woman crowd not only because he did abortions but because he specialized in third-trimester abortions. He was executed during the Obama administration.

The climate Bush helped to create had a lot to do with Tiller's execution, but Tiller's actual death can't be laid solely at the hands of Bush.

6. I guess he didn't destroy death either or people killing peple in general?
Edited on Sun Nov-15-09 12:08 PM by stray cat
of course no one would ever make that type of claim. The action of 9-11 was different than one person killing another.

9. Every time the TSA or DHS violate your consitutional rights, every time
your phone is tapped. Every time your privacy is compromised, there is a terrorist attack, albeit small.

I have felt far less 'safe' since the neocons made us 'safer'

11. The two DC Killers
WERE terrorist. I lived in a small town in the DC suburbs and I can tell you this I was more scared then when the Russians moved the missles into Cuba. I didn't even want to leave my apartment. AND I kept the drapes drawn. I am no coward. But when you are in the unknown it is worst than what a lot of people think. And I will never ever think they were not TERRORISTS PURE AND SIMPLE...AND what did bush do about it, he and cheney probably left town.
