1. I know it's just a stupid little petition.
But this issue is very important, so a few seconds to sign are worth it. When the stakes are this high, even the smallest chance of winning are worth taking.

Please ask Obama not to send more troops to Afghanistan:

2. I think he's thinking about it
Havent you seen the agony that he has faced about Afghanistan?
He met with families as the bodies of fallen troops came to Dover
He walked quietly through Arlington National Cemetary and talked with families on Veterans Day.
He's weighing the decision and has turned down the blank number of fodder that the war pigs had asked for.

3. He is getting a lot of pressure from his base.
He needs more pressure. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much he thought about it. It matters what he decides. He has to decide to not send more troops. If he knows his political career is on the line, he will make the right decision. It is the power we have as voters. We and our discontent are a large part of the reason for his hesitance to decide. We have to keep up the pressure.

This petition is a perfect way to do that. We have to make it known what we want. He is deciding. Our collective voice needs to be in there.

It takes 5 seconds.

Would you take 5 seconds to save a life?

4. When Obama does decide to send 40,000 more troops to Afghanistan
I will feel that it was done with Americans' consent. I will look at my petition for evidence of this. It is hard to believe that we have dehumanized those in the Middle East so much that we hardly even care if we are murdering them.
