REDDING, Calif.—Sarah Palin is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at a Northern California logging conference early next year.

Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference executive director Nadine Bailey said Palin will kick off the weeklong timber industry gathering Feb. 8 in Redding.

Bailey said the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee has not settled on a theme for the speech but would be stopping in Redding in part to promote her book.

The book, "Going Rogue," will be released Tuesday.
