I Still See Sarah Palin as a Joke
Edited on Sat Nov-14-09 10:39 PM by Bonobo
When McCain picked her and I got a load of her act, the first thing I did was thank the multi-tentacled Noodly One.

I knew with absolute certainty that she was a rock-solid guarantee of victory in 2008.

Since then, she has become even more of a joke. The tabloid stuff with Levi, quitting as governer (alone enough to DOOM her!), the mocking from both Left and traditional Right, the lame tour, it's been a non-stop laugh riot.

I am absolutely certain that she will never attract more than a tiny margin of extremist votes. As long as she stays in politics, it helps our cause.

If she represents the Republican party, she will drive out moderates and anyone with half a care for their country's future.
If she goes 3rd party, she will siphon off enough votes to ensure us victory.

She is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Long live Sarah. May her political career flourish for many years.

8. It all depends on what things look like
in 2012. This is why I think the repugs are trying to obstruct anything and everytbing Obama does. It's their only hope of pulling out a victory then. Which is why the Dems had better grow a spine and do what they were elected to do.

If things are shit in 2012 anything is possible. Even Sarah Palin, though I think the big boys would demolish her in the primaries. Push comes to shove, they will trash her like there's no tomorrow.

Look at how bad things were in 2008. And still the Red States went Republican. It really should have been a sweep.

10. I don't think she would ever be selected ....
by the RNC to run on their platform. The bobble headed Steele figure has said several times that she will not be their candidate. He uses the euphemism, "She will not be ready by then."

He doesn't say when he thinks she will be. Maybe the 12th of Shevoois?

11. If nominated she will not run, if elected, she will not serve--
or something like that. Oh, she'd take office, but that whole "service" thing is just out of the question!

I can easily see her starting to run, but one bad experience and she might as easily decide it's better to pretend she was forced out for being "too truthful" or too religious or too conservative or something. If she gets a good taste of being a pundit, she might just prefer keeping her outsider cred. (I hope--she'd do less harm!)

23. One Sigh Too Many
I remember too. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and seeing. And then to go after Al for sighing was too much. I was sighing too. Bush couldn't answer a question and Al was sighing. Al couldn't believe what he was hearing or seeing either. Bush was so blatantly stupid.

24. my mom was dying of cancer at the time and we watched all the debates together
we actually couldn't believe it when bu$h* couldn't answer questions asked and Gore would give great detailed answers and they would call it a draw.

my mom died before the final outcome was revealed, but if she lived the outcome may have killed her. she thought junior was a stooge. she was right, an evil stooge.

29. Michelle Obama
is the Anti-Palin.
It's a sad commentary on what the Repugs have become, when a novelty act like Sarah is one of the most appealing people they can stand up in front of a camera.
In a sane world, she would be a good resturaunt hostess, maybe do the TeeVee weather. Her literacy is such that she'd never rise above the bottom rung in office work.

30. She's coming here to Columbus on the third day of her book tour.
She'll be signing books at a Borders a few miles up the road from my home. I considered going in and peering at her from some liberals-only redoubt like the Poetry or History section, just to say I saw her. But you know what? She's not worth the bother. I see her plenty on TV. And DU!
