Evangelist gets 175 years for sex convictions

TEXARKANA, Ark. — Evangelist Tony Alamo has been sentenced to 175 years in federal prison for taking underage girls across state lines for sex.

Alamo was sentenced Friday in Texarkana, Arkansas.

U.S. District Judge Harry F. Barnes listened to testimony from three of Alamo's victims before giving Alamo the maximum time allowed by federal guidelines. He told Alamo that he will one day face "a greater judge," and said "may (God) have mercy on your soul."

He kept his wife's dead body in his house in Nashville waiting for her to resurrect herself. I knew his brother D.J. Dan Hoffman. Dan Hoffman was a dj at WKDA. It was an iconic
radio station that was depicted in the movie WW and the Dixie Dance Kings that stared Burt Reynolds.
Ironically, Art Carney played and evangelist Deacon John Wesley Gore and the WKDA building was used as his headquarters.
