Provisions that HAVE to be stripped from the Senate health reform bill
According to an insurance industry-funded study,
There are four provisions included in the Senate Finance Committee proposal that could
increase private health insurance premiums above the levels projected under current law:
1) Insurance market reforms coupled with a weak coverage requirement,
2) A new tax on high-cost health care plans,
3) Cost-shifting as a result of cuts to Medicare, and
4) New taxes on several health care sectors.

On average, the cost of private health insurance coverage will increase:
o 26 percent between 2009 and 2013 under the current system and by 40 percent
during this same period if these four provisions are implemented.
o 50 percent between 2009 and 2016 under the current system and by 73 percent
during this same period if these four provisions are implemented.
o 79 percent between 2009 and 2019 under the current system and by 111 percent
during this same period if these four provisions are implemented.

The first condition, and possibly the third depending on how some parts of H.R. 3962 are interpreted, are also in the bill that passed the House. This is a warning of future costs spiraling out of control.

3. No, it is insurance industry paranoia. None of those things increase health care costs.
At most, they just redistribute them.

5. What has to be added? 1 A provision limiting premium increases and setting required % of premiums
that have to be spend on patient care.
Remove the individual MANDATE and add a Corporate Mandate Every company with over 50 employees has to offer acceptable insurance to its' employees.
