Now this is what I call a movie review.
How messed up do you have to be to get this out of the movie "Coraline"?

That America has fallen so far to allow such a movie to be shown to children is another matter. But what is the political significance of these two stories? Precisely this: many in Hollywood have a vision of the world terrifyingly unlike our own. Those who made "Coraline" are also likely to endorse the evils of abortion and homosexual marriage, and given a chance, could easily change America into a Soviet-style hell on earth. That is - if you will - Mother Hulda shows the soul of the Right, and Coraline, the tormented soul of the Left.

1. Wow, I don't think I watched the same movie as that guy
because I didn't get that from the story at all, and I actually thought that the message of the movie was a positive one.

4. as one RWer on Facebook told me ...
People look for what they want to see, listen for what they want to hear.

(Of course, when he ripped Obama for praising Islam to the the "virtual" exclusion of the "female officer who brought down the terrorist", I mentioned to him "way to hear what you listened for and see what you looked for." He replied back, "I was definitely listening." They sure as hell can spin themselves out of every rule they set for everybody else ...)

5. Of course they don't like it
Coraline is about resisting the allure of an easy but empty promise, being strong and smart, and a young person who would normally be considered helpless and dependent actually rescuing others, including her parents. The RW'ers don't want people, especially children, being strong or smart and they especially don't want them doubting empty candy promises of a wonderful life in another world.
