after this murder (because that is truly what it is) he was here in my town, and I had gotten an invitation (should check my email more often, I guess) worrisome to me is the fact that the person who issued the invitation is clearly enthralled with this man, views him in almost a messiah-like way--all I could think was "cult". the lying, cowardly bastard would definitely have heard from me. I saw an interview harry smith did with one of the survivors, and it was heartbreaking. why do I call him a murderer? because, according to this survivor, she and others were telling him that people were in distress, and he would not stop, would not let anyone render assistance, would not let anyone out. whether the law sees him that way or not, I don't know. when I heard that, when I saw the so-called "sweat lodge"--which was low, and made of plastic, and way too small for the number of people, I was horrified. it is one thing for the gullible to be parted from their money, but even the gullible do not deserve to be placed in jeopardy as he did to those people.
however, several of the links on the left side of that article indicate that some sort of charges might be filed--and apparently there are going to be hefty lawsuits as well.
