Do you think MSNBC covers Sarah Palin too much?
Do you think MSNBC covers Sarah Palin too much?

It's like the sarah palin channel. All Sarah, All the Time.

I do think that sometimes, there's no such thing as bad publicity. In the past, she hasn't been exposed in a flattering way but now I think that line is being blurred.
I can understand the strategy of not letting her fade so that people remember who she was but I don't think it's working.
A lot of folks don't vote for people based on their brains or accomplishments. Maybe a better idea would be not to further publicize this woman's book or anything about her and to stop saying "she's fascinating" because she's anything but fascinating. The only thing that's fascinating is why she got 50% of the msnbc coverage yesterday and about 75% so far today.

Stuff this woman in a drawer. Quit promoting her book. People are starting to fall in love with her for goodness sakes.

Hillary Clinton did a lot of fascinating things in the past week but unfortunately I didn't get to hear much about her speech because Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh got more airtime.
Go ahead, unrec me.

3. Palin
I totally agree that S. P. is getting way too much photo promotion under the guise of news. I could say the same for the constant quoting of Limbaugh, Hannity, etc.. More ignoring is in order. So many important people and things are doing interesting things, and we need more information about real news.

8. Sometimes I watch some BBC America News or PBS or go to a newspaper website....
It's amazing how much is going on in the world that we don't hear about on cable infotainment outlets.
Going to a foreign newspaper or their website will also tell you a lot of what's going on in the world other than the latest car chase, cop shooting, right wing nutbagger, nutbag ralley, etc.

5. I kind of feel bad for her, to be honest
I mean, getting kicked out for those racy topless photos, and then having her lawsuit thrown out because of that explicit sex tape? How does she cope?

but so far, we haven't seen any really racy pics of sarah (thank you, goddess, for small favours.)

11. Think about it this way: If I owned a news channel, I'd be covering leftists with as much enthusasm
as MSNBC is covering Sarah Palin.

Wouldn't you?

Heck, my channel would be the Hugo Chavez channel. We'd talk about his new book, his children, who he's inviting to thanksgiving, all of that.

I unrecced this and will unrec every Palin thread I see in the future. Sorry, I'm just so tired of hearing about her and I come here thinking to avoid the buzz about her only to see 58 threads every day about some idiot former gov who lost an election.

21. I watched NBC's News and Lester Holt held up her book and said.
something to the effect of "The book everyone has been waiting for!" because they were covering Palin later in their news; which I didn't stay to watch.

I don't know about anyone else, but I could care less about that book.

30. I think any coverage of ....
Sarah Palin is excessive. She is not currently in political life. She was a political nobody when McCain picked her as running mate because he thought he needed a woman; any woman.

She is not long on brains or talent, she has dangerous uber conservative ideas and even lost her joke value a long time ago. I would like to see MSNBC concentrate on real politics and commentary and let the losers seek their own level in blessed silence.

35. I just counted. There are 11 threads devoted to her on P2 of General Discussion

So obviously DUers think she is very newsworthy.

Or perhaps DUers only think she's newsworthy because they see so much of her on MSNBC?
