E-mail: Sen. Leahy to appear on "Face the Nation" on Sunday.

Dear Rhiannon,

This Sunday, Senator Leahy will appear on CBS's Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer to discuss the Justice Department's decision to prosecute 9/11 terrorists in federal court, restoring the rule of law, and closing the detainee facility at Guantanamo Bay.

Senator Leahy believes that trying Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and four other suspects in federal court will help us bring long overdue justice to the 9/11 terrorists, and he hopes the cases will move forward promptly. It's a clear demonstration to the world that we trust our judicial system to bring suspected terrorists to justice.

Face the Nation will air this Sunday, November 15. Check your local listings for the broadcast time in your area.

I hope that you will tune in to watch Senator Leahy!

Sincerely,

Carolyn Dwyer

1. Good. I hope Sen Whitehouse goes on some also. We need some push back against the Republican
hysteria.

2. Here's the entire lineup:
Coming Up: Nov. 15
An exclusive interview with U.S. Rep. Peter Hoekstra , the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Dana Priest, CBS News contributor and investigative reporter for the Washington Post, and Juan Zarate, CBS News national security analyst, Sunday 10:30 a.m. EDT.

Looks like he's going to be on by himself, but I'll still be interested in what he has to say on all of this. Senator Leahy isn't afraid to make sense... And at least Bob Schieffer isn't likely to pick a fight with the senator, unlike some of these asshat "hosts..." ;)

5. The only time I ever saw FIXED News Sunday was when
they showed the footage of President Clinton taking down Chris Wallace. There's no point in tuning in unless you want to hear more of the RW garbage that you already believe. If you saw Jon Stewart's opening last night, that's how I'd feel, too, if I tuned into this tripe. I would really have trouble watching "This Week Without David Brinkley," too... Rudy Guiliani?! There has to be at least one on every show... x(

4. And here's "Meet the Press."
I like Al Sharpton and Sec. Clinton, but I'm still much more interested in what Senator Leahy has to say on the latest controversial issue, the trial of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, etc., in NYC. :-)

Meet the Press guest list for November 15, 2009

HILLARY CLINTON
Secretary of State

ARNE DUNCAN
Secretary of Education

NEWT GINGRICH (R-GA)
Speaker of the House 1995-1999

REV. AL SHARPTON

From the middle of a major overseas trip as President Obama's Secretary of State, HILLARY CLINTON joins us from Asia for an in-depth interview on all the foreign policy challenges facing this administration including Afghanistan, Iraq and the U.S. image abroad. How is she presenting U.S. objectives on the global stage and to her counterparts around the world?

Plus, Secretary of Education ARNE DUNCAN, Fmr. House Speaker NEWT GINGRICH (R-GA), and civil rights leader Rev. AL SHARPTON have been touring the country -- visiting classrooms and talking with students -- to highlight education issues and rally support for their proposed education reforms. We'll join them on the road this week, then sit down with them Sunday morning for a live interview to discuss their plans to improve the quality of education in this country.
