Geeze. I remember that poignant little horror in our history. I didn't realize he was so much older than I was. His horror has been with me for decades.

(Heard this on cnn)

1. I remember the muders and trial.
He must have been in his 30's when that happened. What a waste of a life.

3. I think he wasted others far more.
He got a chance to be an old man. Sharon Tate never got to be an old woman.

4. No way! Wow, I love her. I have been witnessing
my 82 year old dad losing friends for years, as did my grandma, but it's sad to realize that our idols get old, too.

5. I read 'Helter Skelter' recently.
Good read if you haven't read it. Amazing how he got all those followers.

6. It is phenomenal isn't it?
It's like the Sarah Palin phenomena. How do they do it and why can't people, who could actually get some good done because of their charisma, have that extra whatever it is?

8. Charles Manson Should Never Get Parole
Charles Manson should die a lonely death in prison. There is no reason why he gets out of all and it would make mockery of the parole system of this state.

9. Manson has been in what amounts to solitary since he's been in jail, not
because they are trying to punish him, but to protect him from the rest of the prisoners. The minute he's mixed with the general population he will be killed. So I agree with you.

10. He was always way older than us.
I remember so clearly the first time I ever saw him on TV -- I was stoned on acid. Boy, talk about a bummer..... It was early in the evening, too, so even though I turned off the TV, I couldn't get his face out of my mind for a while. What a freak!

13. He was a monster, for all of us despite our frame of mind at the time.
For peace loving people, he was an anomaly.

14. The freaky thing was the people following him
Sort of like Glen Beck.

Or Joseph Smith....

15. That was the scariest part about him to me.
Those kids seemed so like me and my friends at that time ... it was hard to conceive how he could have that kind of power over them.
