I infrequently visit FR but I find their post to be snarky. Why

if they are just snarky can't the Dems pull together the crowds & the voters to refute them? I don't understand! I see angry, energized people here on Du, but nothing like that on FR. They are into name calling and fables, but I have not seen even ONE poster there who was pushing for getting on a bus or get to Washington or wherever to protest. If it's all Dick Army and his paid crowds, whay don't we have them too?

people who act on their own convictions and initiative and don't like using paid thugs to get a point across. If you have to pay protesters and they are doing the protest for the money only, people do find out and then the protest becomes meaningless. Do you know of any politically savvy people who take the Republicans seriously enough to connect the words "conservative" and principles?

It really doesn't work out well that way.

and usually for lies about a certain subject. On FR, there are a lot of snarky comments but not really a lot of enthusiasm. On DU, I see a lot of enthusiasm from a lot of people, but none of it turns into on-site protests or marches that are big enough to gain media attention.

All I was asking is why does the right have Dick Army's and we don't?

11. Dick Armey is ...

a virulent Conservative zealot. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants. I don't know if he actually believes in everything he is pushing or if he is doing what he needs to do just to force his particular agenda on everyone, including people who don't want it or need it. He is a very unprincipled man. The right seems to have a lot of people like Dick Armey. Their ideology is basically life hating and depends on greed and power for its own sake; the very worst that people have to offer each other. I think conservative ideas attract people like that. Cold, selfish and definitely not interested in what happens to others.

Democrats have participated in demonstrations. Antiwar demonstrations which drew huge crowds and immigration demonstrations which did the same. The problem is, it was in George Bush's interest not to have people realize that there were so many who opposed his policies, so he influenced the news media and newspapers to ignore or barely acknowledge our events. I knew about them so I searched for photos on the internet and found the pictures. Try this link. It will take you to a photo gallery of Code Pink, an antiwar group who has participated in many demonstrations large and small. They did it for ideals not for money and not to intimidate others. They were trying to save lives and make this country a better and safer place to live. They wear costumes, they laugh, but their message is serious. This is only a small part of their website. Link to some of the other areas and explore it a bit and see if you like what you see. They only want volunteers who will act peacefully and who believe in what they are doing. Isn't that better than what the Dick Armey's want?
