McCain official: Palin claim 'one hundred percent untrue'

The AP said that Palin writes about receiving a bill for about $500,000 from the McCain campaign to pay for expenses relating to the vetting process that took place before she was named as the vice presidential nominee.

"That is one hundred percent untrue," said the McCain official, who would only speak on the condition of anonymity in deference to McCain. "All those bills are from her personal attorney Thomas Van Flein, mostly relating to the Troopergate investigation and other ethics investigations. It is not legal to pay for those investigations out of general election funds, even if the campaign was so inclined."

1. For $500,000 they got a truly shitty job
For only $50,000 i could have told them what an idiot she was.

9. Interesting business plan - but I'll undercut you on price
I hereby offer my vetting services to both political parties.

$5000-$10,000 per candidate (depending on length of public services).

3. I have never seen this level of acrimony between former Presidential and Vice Presidential
candidates.

McCain should admit his monumental fuckup, and Palin should shut the fuck up.

This is like watching a married couple accuse each other of marital infidelity with the respective spouses brother and sister at a family reunion.

13. And yet I guarantee that if one asks McCain tomorrow if Palin is qualified to be president in 2012
Edited on Fri Nov-13-09 12:16 PM by Mike Daniels
he'll give her a full throated vote of support/confidence.

Even with the economy tanking last year if McCain had picked someone as VP who the public thought could handle the job I think he still may have been able to pull out a win.

Ultimately, I don't know if he's trying to take the high road but at this stage I'd think John would be better served by saying "f it" and firing off the broadsides at Palin and her supporters.

6. That is a major untruth in her book, if the spokesperson is correct.

How could she have misundersttod this bill, if true?

Quite serious. I don't follow much about her - I hope I get to hear her comeback on this one. The campaign stuff interests me. Most of the other stuff pains me. She is an attention sucker-upper, big time.

8. Well, with McCain stating that she is a liar
how is she going to not be tarred as a liar?

12. Do yo have any idea how much the extremists on the right hate McCain?
Having McCain call her a liar is like being annointed by a prophet. Palin knows that and is more than happy to have McCain throw a hissy fit.

But it is also good for us. I don't think Palin can ever win the nomination in 2012, but she will push every other candidate to the right.

Also, it is our dream to have her speak on behalf of a candidate, like she did in NY23. Palin could singlehandedly save a lot of Democratic seats by approving right wing opponents.

16. I guess I meant by reasonable people.
The right-wing fringe are outliers, and I hope they go galloping after Palin.

10. Could this be the front cover of Palin's new book?
I have yet to see a copy myself, so I can't confirm, or deny.. ;)

15. I'd Just Like to Reiterate My Sincere Thanks To Senator McCain For Unleashing Sarah On the World.
Not only is she endlessly entertaining, but she does more to discredit Republicans on a weekly basis than Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, and John Stewart combined could manage in a lifetime.

Thank you, Senator McCain. Thank you.
