In our local school district 80% of all disciplinary action is on boys.
Why is that do you think? Are boys just more prone to mischief or are girls just a bit more timid? Local school board is working on this issue right now..

1. Males and females largely display fundamentally different behavior patterns.
I think its biological, not sociological.

2. In the context of the school
and what rules apply there.
Can you imagine a set of rules under which girls would be as likely as boys to lash out?

From K-12 each and every school has shown the same results.

4. For one example, boys are more likely to have ADHD than girls.
Girls are more likely to have ADD -- difficulty focusing but without hyperactivity. Daydreaming doesn't disrupt the class the way hyperactivity can.

5. harder for boys to sit still
And most schools require that.

Also, when girls are aggressive it is more of the passive aggression, which escapes punishment more than biting or hitting (a boy thing).
