Sarah Palin to Levi: Stop by for Thanksgiving!

If Levi Johnston would like a piece of the Palin family turkey, Sarah Palin will save him a seat at her Thanksgiving table.

"It's lovely to think that he would ever even consider such a thing," the former Alaska governor, 45, tells Oprah Winfrey in an interview to air Nov. 16, the day before the publication of Palin's memoir, "Going Rogue."

"Because," she said, "he is a part of the family and you want to bring him in the fold and kind of under your wing. And he needs that, too, Oprah. I think he needs to know that he is loved and he has the most beautiful child and this can all work out for good."

Read an interview with Levi in Vanity Fair recently. Was surprised by his lack of gullibility and saneness. Many of his observations caught me by surprise. More than anything, it was clear that what so many Palinites like and admire, is merely a smokescreen of a public persona created to sell a more marketable version of a very boring and uninspiring individual.

It's telling that Sarah Palin just assumes that the boy is to be at Palin's. Does this mean Levi gets him for Xmas?

That kid needs two parents and the Palins by all accounts are shutting Levi, the father, out. I highly doubt it would be in that kid's best interest to have Levi at the Palin family dinner table....They needed to have worked out joint custody long ago and Sarah's (Bristol, where are you??) hoarding that kid is nonsense.

A messy custody battle (on top of everything else,) renders Sarah unelectable. It also ensures she's not going to be able to beat the "family-friendly" drum anymore.

If he's smart, he'll file before Thanksgiving, and his counsel will get some kind of temporary shared custody order in place.
