Lou Dobbs suggested that he had been targeted by the Obama administration
asshat!! :eyes:

Why Did Dobbs Leave?
On November 11, 2009 at 11:38 PM

While reporting a forthcoming story, we interviewed cable TV anchor, radio personality—and self-styled leader of America's "Independent" movement—Lou Dobbs. We mostly talked about the White House's policy accomplishments (or, from his point of view, lack thereof), but Dobbs also shared his thoughts on the administration's approach to the media—thoughts that, in light of his resignation from CNN tonight, seemed worth digging out of the transcript for a second look.

There's plenty in here for the tea-leaf reader: Dobbs's thoughts on the Fox-Obama feud (Dobbs has been recently linked with Fox), his sense of being singled out by the White House and its allies, even allegations that the administration was going so far as to put the squeeze on him at CNN. Our interview was conducted a day or so before Dobbs told authorities that his New Jersey home had been shot at—you get the sense from his comments that he already felt very much like a target. —Luke Zaleski

18. If Bush did this there would be an outrage! What happened to "change the channel"?
That is Bushlike behavior. I don't like it. If he had a violation, etc., I could see it. But he's no different in Rush, or Hannity as far as "news" goes....it's not. This action is over the top. If Bush did this you'd be screaming mad....and rightfully so!

24. If Bush did what?
You aren't seriously believing Dobbs in this, are you? He is a conspiracy nut case of the first order, one example being his showcasing the birther movement and promoting their crazy ass view.

3. Dobbs took it personally that Obama basically called him a bigot in "The Audacity of Hope"
No introspection and thoughts of oh maybe something is wrong with ME nope just got butt hurt and has been convinced Obama's been out to get him ever since.

5. Why is it these racist pundits are always the "victim" in their eyes?
Dobbs wouldn't warrant a raised eyebrow from the Obama administration, he is only important in his own mind. It was his racist rants and wingnuttery in going hand in hand with the birthers that 'doomed' him. He did it to himself but, then again, it is typical of the rabid right to ignore their own responsibility in their own failings.

7. Because They Believe That Victimology Is Power
They mistakenly believe that the success of the Civil and Feminist movements was based on "playing the victim" card. So, they believe that playing the same card will also give them power. This is a very cynical, narrow-minded view of social movements which did address centuries of legitimate grievances, but they saw it as whiny because they lack empathy for anyone but themselves.

9. Good answer!
Makes eminent sense. Your point about the lack of empathy trait that is common among them really hit home, you nailed it. Thanks!

28. Aww. I was just going to make you a buddy based on that very astute remark,
but you don't keep up your journal. :(

Hint: a good analysis like the one you just made deserves checking the box that'll post it to your journal. That way DUers who don't want to miss your stuff, don't have to.

8. When the going gets tough the wing nuts whine and play the victim card
Everybody's picking on Lou Dobbs. But they are also picking on Carrie Prejean. And everybody at fox news. Dobbs is a flea an insignificant little man. If the Obama administration wanted to pick on somebody they have more important targets than this silly fuck. And Prejean - I'd be very surprised if Obama even knew of her existence.

BTW, the NJ authorities have more or less openly ridiculed the story about Dobbs house getting shot at.

10. I doubt the's right, but even if he is....
...just remind him that when Republicans do it (Reagan, Bush, and Bush) it's airily dismissed as "playing hardball".
