Darius Rucker becomes First African American to win Best New Artist
Darius Rucker has become First African American to win Best New Artist at the CMA's. Well done, he has a great year since taking up country music. Darius Rucker use to be the lead singer for Hootie and The Blowfish.

3. This was his first "country" record.
Though it basically sounded like Hootie with steel guitar and fiddles, so not exactly a drastic change from his previous stuff.

5. What a talented cutie with a luscious voice! Yay for Darius.
Loved Hootie and his new stuff is good too. Even though it's country.

imo, it's kind of bland and not my favorite in the country genre. it's kind of like pound cake. to make a van halen'esque analogy. course i felt the same way about hootie
