3. Jon, if for any reason, studies show some cons fail to realize Colbert's parody
Edited on Thu Nov-12-09 01:55 PM by Echo In Light
At least they know where Jon stands on things. Don't get me wrong, Colbert is comical too...but Jon's been around longer, and is more trusted for young people who don't bother w/any of the other M$M.

6. Colbert is great but I give Jon Stewart a lot of credit for any semblance of
America surviving the last 8 years because he for a long time was the only source of truth in the MSM.

Plus, my prediction was correct - so far (until Colbert Nation wakes up :scared:)

A prophet is not without honor, save on his own message board. (Okay the original idea was Bucky's)

Edited on Thu Nov-12-09 05:21 PM by Toasterlad
I just love his character so much. Plus, he gets bonus points for "A Colbert Christmas" and "I Am America And So Can You"* - both brilliant.

*his performance on the audio book is hilarious.

19. that's what i was gonna say...
Stewart is sharp and informative, putting a serious hurtin' on whomever he goes after

Colbert is just f*cking hysterical - i laughed non-stop at the sesame street bit the other night

13. Call me simple minded, but I prefer Jon's straight up approach.
I really like Colbert too, but I like how Stewart mocks and interviews.

16. Colbert
Mostly because I never know what absurd thing is going to pop on the show next and I don't want to miss it (like a sponsorship of speed skating!) I think he generally makes me shriek with laughter a lot more than Jon these days. The recurring segments are incredibly amusing: "Formidable Opponent," "Threat Down," and "Cheating Death," among others.

The Daily Show needs some new correspondents. The current cast is funny, but I feel like I'm seeing the same thing over and over. The remotes are very weak these days. Colbert does a better job on these between "Better Know a District" and the others that he covers with voice-overs. Jon did have me cracking up like no tomorrow with his Beck impression a few days ago. I don't know how you write or perform something like that, but he pulled it off and it was hilarious.

17. They're both great. Stewart is gifted but Colbert is genius, imo.
I like Colbert's type of humor better than Stewart's. I think Colbert is a little more "old fashioned"....like me. There are fewer obscenities to get laughs and more creativity. Colbert has left me shaking my head in disbelief that he just did what he did. Stewart makes some good points but many times the supporting cast lays an egg. Stewart has to play nice with too many douches touting their books, too.
